Entered your business during the early afternoon today, and observed several ladies behind the front counter having a conversation. Typically when a customer enters a business they're greeted, if only to let them know that the staff recognized them, however no one greeted me AT ALL! I purposely passed the front counter where two of the ladies were standing to see if anyone would acknowledge me, but of course no one did. However shortly after I entered a group of caucasian women came into the store and "Hello ladies welcome in" was their greeting! Now if you haven't guessed, yes I am an African American woman, a woman worthy of all the respect that any other customer would want from a business serving ALL customers, not just white ones!! Unfortunately I have experienced this at other East Louisville boutiques, etc, and typically I would respectfully leave the establishment feeling very disrespected, but this time I'm being vocal and sending a MUCH needed message to you, and other retailers in the Eastend of Louisville, and that is black consumers are just as much a part of this community as our white counterparts. And if you opened your businesses to serve customers, which I believe that's the objective for any business, then treat us ALL EQUAL! MONEY is green, not black or white, and it all spends the same! We stop into this little shop occasionally to see what's new. They have many booths which are kept stocked with new inventory; one critique at many of their booths is that pricing is way too high. This is not a boutique store or a retail store, pricing needs to reflect the type of store patrons are shopping at. I will agree with other reviewers that the staff is not overly friendly. They don't usually acknowledge people when the door opens, unless you are a booth owner or a frequent customer. This is such a great business to stop in and visit. Whether you are looking for a something specific or just perusing. The furniture selection is top notch and always in great shape. The employees are friendly and create a welcoming environment. We purchased a refinished sideboard but didn’t have proper protection to get it home. An employee allowed us to borrow moving blankets and bands to get the piece home. We were so impressed with how they went above and beyond. We’ve been repeat customers since.
