Five Below — Local services in Jersey City

Tired of this store closing down without warning or update to their hours. I’ve driven to this place multiple times in the last few months and they just decide whenever to close the store. No renovations inside going on. Employees in the store too - with all the lights on. Aside from being closed without warning, another issue is that their employees don’t seem to all be on the same board about whatever their company protocol is cause some of them watch you at self checkout (no intervention) and other times they insist on scanning everything for you. It’s definitely inconvenient to be in the middle of scanning your own stuff, one item left and suddenly another employee walks up to grab the items from you and scans...

I had a really disappointing experience at this Five Below store. The staff seems uninterested in helping customers. Whenever I had a question, the workers just walked away or ignored me. I’m not very comfortable using self-checkout and asked if someone could scan my items for me, but I was told that only self-checkout was available, with no further assistance offered. Meanwhile, the staff stood around chatting and laughing instead of helping customers. There were only two ladies working yesterday, and neither seemed to want to do their job. I like this store but today my experience was terribly awful because the sign said it opens at 10 am on Sundays but when I asked the associate she said 11. The funny thing is we have been waiting for over 30 mins and I did see two associates went inside the store but nobody bothered to inform us. During our time of wait we saw approximately 20 customers wait and leave. So just imagine how many customers they lost today just by putting 3 signs that says they open at 10 instead of 11.
