This is the first review I have ever written. Which goes to show how impactful this experience was on me. First of all when booking the appointment I was let know that there weren't many slots open because there was only 2 nail techs working. I said that was alright and we agreed on a 6:30 pm appmt the next day. Today I arrived 2 minutes before my 6:30 PM appointment. A woman doing nails asked what i was there for and I replied i was there for a UV gel fill in at 6:30 PM. I was told to look at colors. About 10 minutes in another woman walked in for a 6:40 apmt. A woman who looked like the owner came out at this point and answered some calls, saw the line of people waiting to get their nails done, ignored them, and went back inside a room. Around 6:50 pm she came back out, and repeated the same cycle. This time she did stop and ask if the people waiting had appointments, to which we replied yes. She then turned to the woman that had the 6:40 appt and told her "We had a nail tech go to the hospital today, im sorry no appmt". I looked around confused because, I only saw 2 nail techs, which i was told the other day on the phone... so where was this mysterious 3rd nail tech that disappeared? Regardless, even if this nail tech did exist, why not call your customers who made appointments and tell them not to show up? The 6:40 pm women left and the owner went back into her little room. Not 5 minutes later she comes back out and tells me the exact same story (which i just heard btw I was right there) and told me they could no longer do my nails. At this point I stood up and very respectfully told them this was not the right way to conduct business. Emergencies happen, but you need to tell your customers about it. I sat there for 30 minutes and no one told me of this "situation". If this was a true emergency the owner should have turned away all the remaining appointments of the day rather than have them make the journey to the salon, sit there for 30 minutes with no information, and then tell them to leave. Unbelievably unprofessional. I am all for supporting new and growing businesses but ultimately nails are a service business. If you cannot provide the baseline of service to your clients, and notify them that you must cancel appointments, then you should not be in...
Read moreI’ve visited this nail salon twice, and unfortunately, both experiences left me feeling uncomfortable.
During my first visit in February, I overheard the female staff openly speaking negatively in Spanish about another customer — a woman of Indian descent — because she had requested something slightly different in her service. Instead of addressing her professionally, they mocked her within earshot, assuming no one else in the room spoke Spanish.
Despite that, I gave the salon another chance and returned in May. Upon arrival, I introduced myself and noted that I had an appointment for a pedicure with a callus remover. I was told, somewhat dismissively, "Oh, you just have a regular pedicure." After clarifying, I was sent to sit and wait.
Now, to be clear — my last visit was in February, so yes, there was a decent amount of dead skin, which is exactly why I booked the callus remover. That said, my feet were not in horrific shape — I get pedicures monthly or every other month, and I still had gel polish on my toes that needed to be drilled off.
When we got to the callus removal portion of the pedicure the technician doing my pedicure started complaining in Spanish about the dead skin on my feet to the woman next to her — again assuming I couldn’t understand. It was both unprofessional and embarrassing.
To make matters worse, a man (possibly one of the owners) sat at the front and stared at me for the ENTIRE service. It made what should’ve been a relaxing moment feel tense and unsettling.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning. I’m honestly surprised by the number of glowing reviews, especially after noticing others have also spoken out about similar uncomfortable or rude experiences.
If you’re looking for a salon that values professionalism and respects its clients, I’d recommend exploring...
Read moreI came to the salon to get my dip powder manicure taken off and my nails cut/filed. It took them 45 minutes just to do this and it was haphazardly done. What really upset me was the music they put on. They had been playing Christmas music and then they played a Christmas song sung by a man in an Indian accent. They began to laugh and ask the Indian woman who works there if she understood what the man was singing because it was in her language. First of all the song was in English, but it was so disrespectful the way they laughed at the song and the Indian woman working there. It’s possible they have this dynamic with her, but for the other 3 Indian customers it was very uncomfortable. The Indian employee asked them to turn off the music, but they didn’t and proceeded to play another Christmas song sung by an Indian guy while laughing. She then recommended a nice Hindi song, but they simply ignored her. It was very uncomfortable. I am Indian and will not be getting my nails done here - not only because of how uncomfortable and disrespected I felt in there, but also because a simple gel soak off and nail cut/file was messy and took way too long. Why should I give people who don’t respect my people and culture business? There’s another salon a couple of blocks away from there. I’d rather give...
