The store’s community involvement and networking are outstanding. The Pottery Jungle is my favorite shop on the best kept shopping street secret in Juneau! UPDATE: They have the pottery studio up and running. This means two of my favorite things under one roof, houseplants and wheel throwing. Local potters of excellence are now selling their wares right there in the plant shop. Currently there’s a stain glass artist showing there with plant themed pieces as well. Love it! Every time I’m there I end up getting plant tips that help my babies thrive. Recently needed to upgrade the pots for my mini violets to self water and of course Morgan had just the thing. Our group was in town visiting Juneau when one night we walked past this shop. To say we fell in love with just looking through the window is an understatement. We went back the next morning to check it out as soon as they opened and were not disappointed! The diversity of plants they have is impressive. I am an avid orchid lover, and just the sheer amount of different orchid species she had on display had me weak! The woman working the counter (I assume to be the owner) was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about all different kinds of plants. She took her time to securely wrap each plant we purchased so that they would be safe for air travel (thank you)! We also loved the unique touch of a free mini dinosaur with every purchase. Incredible service and even better plants, if that’s possible! I would consider myself a black thumb and I have successfully kept three plants from here alive! They give detailed instructions on how to best care for it and help you find the perfect sized pot for it. They’ve even messaged me with tips to help with the plants I’ve bought over a year ago to make sure it does its best!
