I've been a loyal customer of Alt Rebel since their original location, frequently shopping here and recommending the store to friends. However, my recent experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share.
I visited the store to sell clothes for the first time without an appointment, but the staff was able to accommodate me. Unfortunately, the attitude of the employee at the front desk, Rachel (as noted on my receipt), was shockingly unprofessional from the moment I walked in. She greeted me with a miserable expression and barely assisted me when I struggled with the check-in screen. While I waited, I observed her openly snubbing clothing another buyer was reviewing, even rolling her eyes at her coworker's comments. I initially thought it might just be me, but her dismissive demeanor seemed consistent with everyone around her.
A few hours later, I received a text that my buy was ready. Upon returning to the store, I approached Rachel again, only to be met with the same rude attitude. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her, rolling her eyes before retrieving my items. After handing me my money with clear indifference, she moved on without even acknowledging that I needed my bag back, which another employee had to point out. There was no sign of any manager on the floor, and it was clear that this behavior wasn't an isolated incident--it's part of how she treats customers.
I left the store feeling deeply disturbed by the lack of basic customer service and respect. I've never encountered such an unfriendly, entitled attitude here before, and it's disheartening to see this at a place I once enjoyed. After this experience, I won't be returning, and I'll be sharing my experience with others.
To the owner, Taylor: I've appreciated your store since you opened and was excited about your new location, but if this is the kind of employee you believe adds value to your business, I can no longer support it. Basic politeness, a welcoming attitude, and professionalism should be the standard, especially in customer-facing roles. I hope you'll consider how this reflects on your brand as this toxic employee's attitude will continue to drive...

Read morePretty slick store with cool vibes offering an array of trendy and classic style cloths for both men and women. I initially just went to go shopping for my fiance, and I found myself picking up some shirts and pants as well (they have a really nice selection of everything). We dropped a few hundred bucks, but came out with an assortment of goodies! I personally haven't found another good second-hand cloth store since leaving Chicago, until I stumbled upon Alt Rebel. They have a large selection of graphic classic tees, sports tanks, and name brand labels (Polo Ralph Lauren, LL Bean, J Crew, Etc.) and you can pretty much find anything you want. My fiance got a few dresses, rompers, and shorts. The personnel in the store even went the extra mile and took cloths off the manakins for her to try on (we ended up getting both of the outfits on the manakins).
I did accidentally get double-charged for an item, and another item still had the magnetic tag on it when I got home, but instead of making me have to come back to the store (because of insane gas prices now), the manager just electronically sent me a refund for the items which I thought was a super stand-up thing to do and was much appreciated. I definitely will be stopping by again in the very...
