I've had a PO Box at this post office for over thirty years, including back when it was in the old building on Stewart Ave — now part of the Mob Museum. Over the decades, I've seen a lot of changes, but one thing that’s remained constant is the kindness and professionalism of the staff.
While longtime employees David, Sandra, and Nancy have recently retired (and are very much missed), the two ladies currently working there — including Pam, who I had a lovely conversation with today — have done a wonderful job of continuing the tradition of warm and friendly service.
The new building is a huge upgrade: it’s bright, clean, and modern. There's even a large parking garage now, offering great views of downtown Las Vegas. The small lot on the side is still available, and there's free 15-minute parking, which is great for quick visits. I don't know the new garage fees, but I parked there for free on a Saturday and made sure to be quick just in case.
Yes, the lines can get long sometimes — this location has always been a bit understaffed — but that’s not the fault of the employees, who truly do their best. They've consistently gone above and beyond to help with package questions, find the most cost-effective shipping methods, and patiently explain USPS procedures — even the frustrating ones like adding someone to a PO Box or dealing with price hikes.
I do a lot of shipping for second-hand Pampered Chef products, and I’ve found it super helpful to prep packages at home and print my own labels through PayPal. Still, whenever I need assistance, the staff has always been incredibly helpful.
I also really appreciate the small touches: the recycling bins in the lobby (perfect for tossing junk mail right away), and the fact that the lobby is open Saturday mornings. Limited weekday hours can be tricky, but I love that Google Maps will notify you if you're headed over during their lunch break — a really helpful tip!
A special shout-out to David, Nancy, and Sandra, who worked through intense summer heat when the AC was out, before operating out of a cramped trailer for nearly two years. They were real troopers, and I’m so glad to see the staff finally settled in a beautiful new space.
After all these years, I’m still proud to call this my post office. Thank you for decades of excellent service — and here's...
Read moreHonestly, I was nervous to go because in my almost 30 years of life I've never mailed something 😂😂 and because of all the bad reviews. But I looked at the reviews for the USPS stores across the city and they all have bad reviews 🤷🏽♀️ so I figured I'd go to the one closest to me. Dude, I had nothing to worry about lol. There was a line when I went in, but it was taken care of quickly. I admitted to the lady at the counter right off the bat I wasn't sure of how the process would work, but I wanted to ship something to return it. The lady at the counter was so kind to me, didn't make me feel rushed in any sense. Showed me my cheapest option, but still offered upgraded things. And made a lil bit of light convo while I was getting my things together, which honestly made me feel really comfortable despite how awkward I am so I didn't contribute to the convo much lol. Luckily no one was behind me, because I feel like the people in the line before me came in prepared and knew what they were doing so it didn't take long to help them vs the few minutes it took for me to get myself situated lol. I just think if you come in with kindness and patience, you will get that in return. I will come here again if I ever need to send...
