I have never been more offended in my life. My husband and I came to town for the Christmas tree lighting festival. We entered the store and the owner came up to me and in a very rude tone said to me "can he not hear me only service dogs allowed in the store". My husband and disabled vet (who is hard of hearing) nor me heard him say anything before this. I kindly left the store because i had our small dog in my purse, He had his service dog so he stayed and looked around. The store has large glass windows as I wait outside and watch this man follow my husband while shaking his head and pull out his phone and start to take pictures of him!! I can see his phone through the window clear as day with my husband in the frame. I go in and ask the man if there is a problem and why is taking pictures of my husband, he gets 2 inches from my face and says " its my store i will do what i want" So I replied "if it's your store then you can tell me why are you taking pictures of my husband". Then he wants to go lie and say he was taking pictures of his employees standing behind me. I asked the man why he is lying and to delete the photos, he is now getting even closer to my face telling me he can do whatever he wants he doesn't need to delete the photos and i need to leave. As i am leaving the store my husband has now walked up and is asking what is going on. I tell him that is soon as you turned around he started taking pictures of you and shaking his head. My husband offers to pull out his ID and show the man. He changes his attitude right away realizing he was wrong but never apologizes in still insists that I am wrong he was never taking photos of my husband. Not sure what he is or was going to do with these photos but I'm sure...
Read moreThe owner, Steve Lord, came into a coffee shop and physically and verbally attacked me while also accusing one of the 13 year old students I teach of theft even though the youth purchased an item. His employees also admitted that the youth purchased an item.
My students and their parents over the years have spent $1,000’s of dollars at this store. While I may file a lawsuit against the owner, I understand that the shop employs some local high school youth who may depend on the money they earn. Please also take note that youth who observed the owner’s behavior also informed me that this is his modus operandi.
I did call the police and may elect to file a more direct criminal report.
This behavior can not be tolerated. Moreover, when I went to address the owner, immediately prior to walking into the store, his employees called me a thief and all the students I teach thieves. The owner then came to the door slammed it in my face, on my cane and my wallet damaging it, as well as my service dog.
There are many other fine shops in town which have far nicer staff and less expensive prices for a superior product. If you want to frequent a shop that attack’s youth and adults with a disability then make your own choices knowing that there are much better choices in town.
While I may not sue the owner since he employs hopefully far better mannered and hard working youth then the ones who verbally assaulted me, when people stop coming to his shop, he will get the message. I also feel sorry for his son, a sophomore in Leavenworth High School, who is learning beyond unprofessional and malicious behavior.
He just lost $1,000’s of dollars from my non-profit organization’s students.
People should never tolerate this behavior!
The shop...
Read moreIf this post were solely on the taffy taste and quality it would be a 5+ star; sadly I also have to take into account the customer service I received with my online order. I ordered 3 pounds of taffy but only received 2 pounds in the shipment. I called and spoke with Charlie and he said he’d look into it and the person who packaged the order would contact me, but no one called. I waited almost another business day and called again and again was told that the owner would need to call me and would yet that afternoon/evening. No one called again so I waited again almost another business day before I called again. I talked with an associate and was told that the owners had been notified and were suppose to be calling me but he would give me another number to try to reach them at. I called and left a message with Kari (not sure if that’s the proper spelling) but haven’t heard back. It appears that the owners don’t really care that they have an unsatisfied customer. To add insult to injury this taffy was a Christmas gift for my husband from our children so besides myself being bummed my kids are as well. It’s frustrating that the customer service isn’t as good...
