Update for 2024 stay: I stayed for 6 nights at the Obertal Inn. The hotel is in the best location for Leavenworth, about in the middle, so it is very convenient to return to your room to put purchases away or use the bathroom. Excellent stay in a clean room with a comfortable chair and two wooden tray tables which is nice for bringing your two free breakfasts back to your room or you can eat in front of the hotel or on the 2nd floor tables/chairs and lounge area which has comfortable couches and is a lovely place to sit and talk or look at the stars. The room has a microwave and good size refrigerator with a freezer compartment. A large square take-out container fit in the refrigerator. Two small bottles of water and coffee was also available in the room. Housekeeping was very helpful and pleasant when I stopped by to ask for additional towels, coffee, or to give them my garbage. Shout out to Kim at the front desk for personally going to check with housekeeping to see if my room was ready (after calling) when I had to checkout of my previous room and move to another room when I extended my stay. I appreciated her taking a personal interest so I could store my medicine in the refrigerator. Favorite breakfasts in order: homemade granola with plain yogurt/apple compote, biscuit and sausage gravy, the two egg cups/3 sausage links/small buttermilk biscuit, & half a waffle with vanilla caramel/raspberry syrup and strawberry/apple compote and whipped cream plus a choice of coffee or orange juice or milk. 2023 stay: I stayed Wed - Sunday (4 nights) by myself as a solo woman in Dream Suite 1 which has a kitchenette. It was clean, spacious, comfortable, safe, walking distance to everything, and with a great view. The apple strudel I ordered was waiting for me on a tray in the Dream Suite - flakey, good buttery crust, slight bite to the applies and nice flavors. Excellent! All the Dream Suites are located behind the Obertal hotel in the Edelweis Weg/Alley on the 3rd floor which has 44 steps and 4 landings to rest and a PIN code to enter the main door. Parking is right in front of the steps and you will receive a parking hang tag when you check in at the Obertal Inn. The alley is only one lane, so it looks tight to pull into the 90 degree spaces, but I timed it right with other cars not being there. Dream Suite 1 is a spacious studio with a sliding glass door with a view of the mountains and a window. It has a Queen bed and a Full pullout sofa with footrest, kitchenette, eating table, good size bathroom, and a shared balcony right outside the sliding door. The kitchenette does not have a stovetop or oven but has a sink, refrigerator and small freezer with ice trays (ice already made), microwave, 4 cup ground coffee pot with organic coffee, coffee creamers and creamers, 4 sets of dishes (plates, bowels, mugs, glasses, silverware), and some handy gadgets like a knife, peeler, pizza wheel cutter, and ice cream scoop. Paper towels, dish soap, sponge, and dish brush, and two kitchen towels were thoughtfully provided. Queen bed was comfortable with bedside tables, lights and a plug outlet on each side. Four double hooks on the wall was your closet and dresser, although there was a little storage in the chest below. Full pullout sofa was comfortable and a nice place to sit looking at the mountains through the sliding glass door. Footstool and tables, big TV. Wooden dining table had four bench stools. Placemats and coasters. I did not find the bench stools comfortable since they dug into the back of my legs. Bathroom was spacious with room around the sink for toiletries, two towels, and a two person shower! Low step in and shower curtain. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. There is only one other suite on the same floor who share the same shared balcony, but other suite guests may use it. There was a low glass table with four cushioned chairs and two metal chairs and a table as well. Excellent value and spacious, clean, comfortable accommodations in Leavenworth at Dream Suite 1.

Shenandoah suite, offsite room. TLDR; I am so mixed in how to review this as the great was 10/10 but the odd things were pretty rough. The manager called us as soon as we posted a review and immediately addressed every concern we had though. My friend booked this room and you walk in, and it's a gorgeous view on the river. 10/10 would book this view. It is a quiet neighborhood with tons of deer passing by. The in room over sized jacuzzi tub was just what we needed for our relaxation retreat. We got in and immediately enjoyed the tub. The water can run really hot, but they had a sign warning as much. After this, my friend went to make a cup of coffee and the fuse blew, taking out power to the entire room. We called the main hotel number just a bit away, and they said "sometimes that happens, we will be there in 10 minutes." A bit concerning that this is a known thing, but things happen. They show up to fix it and ask if we plugged anything in. Nope. I then noticed they have a charging flashlight plugged in, which suggests this may happen often. I'd never have wondered if plugging in a phone might blow power to our whole room. We were told to call the emergency line if it did it again after hours.... seems like it should be fixed given they know about it, yeah? We asked if we could access it and just take care of it ourselves if it happens again (we were the only ones there in any of the 4 rentals and there is no staff on site) but it was located inside a storage closet so no luck. While we were told no staff were on site and we were the only tennants in building, sometime in the early hours of the morning, we woke to pounding outside our door. We checked the hallways and no one was there. Given that a passcode is required to enter the building and a second one to enter the room, this was alarming. We shoved our shoes under the door to make a door stop. I posted a review detailing these, but ammended it as management reached out to discus our concerns. They explained that someone was in fact on site and the actions they were taking to address the electrical issue as well as looking into who entered the residence. They took our concerns serious, and while it was a bummer that the amazing views and tub were ruined by not sleeping, we were apologized to and offered a credit so that they can show us the amazing service they are known for (as apparent from google reviews) The great: staff, location, views, comfy beds, the spa tub The bad: electrical may need an update (being addressed) The ugly: unknown knocking at unfortunate hours (also being addressed)

My husband and I have stayed here three times and will keep coming back. Great service, super friendly check-in. We have always stayed at the river side rooms so can't write how the main hotel is but we love the rooms down on the water. No free breakfast if you stay in those rooms, but breakfast is available to go for a small cost. The first time we stayed in the Yukon room. Loved the lodge theme, especially the wonderful window seat overlooking the river, where you can cuddle up with a good book. We also enjoyed the Rio Grande room and the unique decor and the relaxing patio. Our personal favorite was the Shenandoah room with the farmhouse theme and the fantastic jetted tub overlooking the river. Caution water is hot!! But I really loved the balcony. The beds are comfortable and rooms come with small refrigerator and microwave. Coffee is available in the rooms but small suggestion to include hot chocolate pods for those who like something warm in the morning or evening but don't drink coffee. Also suggest outlet wall chargers for cell phones for those who forget their cellphone chargers at home. Oops. Board games and a huge collection of DVDS is also available. Pet friendly too. Quiet rooms and very romantic. We also loved and appreciated the apple strudel waiting for us in our room. The caramel sauce is to die for. Can't say enough good things.
