The food here was great. My experience with the service, however, was very.. degrading, to say the least. Me, my husband and our friend traveled 3 hours to visit Leavenworth to watch the lighting of the Christmas lights and enjoy the tourist events going on. After a long day of walking in the cold and wet weather and enjoying ourselves we decided to end our trip and warm up with some yummy food. Again, the food was great. When mine and my friend's to-go containers were filled and weighed and the sticker was put on the container listing the weight and price, we took a seat to wait on my husbands food to be cooked and weighed too. He was behind me and my friend in line. He had our money and we pay together as most husbands and wives do. As me and our friend sat there waiting for him, one of the servers (a young lady with brown hair in a braid) came up to us and said "Be sure you pay for that. The big boss is over there cooking." She was implying that I was about to steal the food. I could understand her confusion at the moment just a little because at the same time my friend was looking for a fork so we can be ready to go as soon as my husband was walking towards us and ready for us to pay and leave. She either assumed we were about to eat our food and ditch the place or that me and my friend were waiting to make a run. Either way I have NEVER stolen anything in my life and to be judged as if I was a thief was VERY humiliating. People saw her say that to me and I was so embarrassed. I turned so red from embarrassment. :( I was kind and didn't make a scene and considered that it was late at night she had probably put up with a lot of things by this point in the day and she was probably tired and agitated and just done with people. I've been there. Regardless, I feel like maybe this upsetting situation could have been avoided if she had simply asked "Is there anything I can help you with?" or "Are ya'll waiting to pay?" To assume the worse and then give me a warning that "big boss" was over there cooking so I better watch out, really hit me the wrong way. I completely enjoyed my trip to Leavenworth but I really wish we had ended the night eating somewhere else. This frustrated me the whole 3 hour drive back home and ended the night wrong. I've worked in customer service in multiple roles for years now and this was honestly...
Read morePEOPLE OF COLOR, DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY! If I could, I would give zero stars. It was I and my husband's first time visiting Leavenworth, and we decided we'd give this restaurant a try. Upon arriving we could see it was semi busy. The greeter was very friendly and kindly advised us to take seating in the bar area for possible faster service. Upon entering the area, there were maybe 3 tables with people occupied. Once we sat DIRECTLY at the bar which faces the area where the bartenders make the drinks, there were 2 gentlemen behind the bar who NEVER greeted us, and 1 lady who was the waitress who also NEVER greeted us, and literally walked around us, making eye contact, and DELIBERATELY assisting everyone else except us. My husband and I waited for maybe 5 mins (possibly more), and still we were NEVER acknowledge, greeted, or even asked if drinks could get started for us by said bartenders or waitress. At this point, my husband received a phone call and another gentleman walked up to the bar and was immediately assisted. I made eye contact with the bald and bearded gentleman who was preparing the drink, and he THEN after being discovered of his wrong doings, decides to ask if we'd like anything. At that point my husband released his phone call and expressed that we were leaving because obviously we weren't welcomed there. Although the establishment is very nice looking, I can say with the most surety that at least 3 people who work there either have poor customer service, or just DON'T approve of people with a darker complexion; I'm leaning towards the latter. I HIGHLY advise NO ONE of color to patronize this business. Unfortunate, because the other workers were friendly, but in this case it took 3 apples to spoil the bunch. TO BE CLEAR, I DON'T judge the city of Leavenworth based off 1 business's actions. If management reads this, we arrived around 3:30p.m. on 10/7/2023. That should give you an idea which 3 were working the back bar area that day. (2 white guys, 1 bald with a beard and glasses, the other also with a beard, but hair on his head, the waitress was a blond somewhat petite...
Read moreHad a great meal here with my folks. They'd never seen a Mongolian style grill restaurant before and they thought it was amazing. The food was all fresh, plentiful, and tasty. Our server was very nice and we really appreciated her attentiveness. The whole place has a modern feel and it was very clean. Even the bathroom, which was so cool looking I almost took a photo of the urinal! (I didn't, but it sure was one I'd never seen before) Ha! They've got a great bar and multiple indoor, outdoor, and balcony seating, so you can overlook the town and views if desired.
My one and only complaint was the price. It is by weight, so those filling their bowls with less food will pay less and those who choose more food will pay more. No argument with how that works, but the weight adds up quickly with all the meats, veggies, and noodle options available. So, without appetizers, drinks, or desserts, each person's total was still closing in on $20 each! That makes the price-per-pound of food nearly $12, which is high for this type of restaurant. I live in a tourist town myself so I understand how high the mark-ups on things usually get, but even this is high. Great food & atmosphere, but quite over priced for what it is. We still plan to dine here again, but it will be more on a special occasion basis. Because it is a great place to eat.
For those claiming they "water down" their sauces: 1) You all create your own sauce! So unless you're watering it down yourself, this can't even happen. And 2) They have to cook and steam your meat & veggies first on the grill. That's why you seem them spritzing them with a tiny bit of water the second the food touches the grill. They don't even add the sauce until after that cooking portion is done and the water mist...
