Barefoot At the Beach — Local services in Lincoln City

Rude & ridiculous. 2022 & we still have to deal with people like the woman working at this shop today. She literally locked up her shop to come find us accusing us of stealing a STICKER. After browsing the poor selection in the store my daughter decided against buying anything and placed a sticker she was considering purchasing next to some t-shirts. Not thinking anything of it we proceeded out of the store only to be followed. The woman confronted my daughter who then stated that she had decided against the purchase & set the item down where we had last been browsing. The store attendant retreated back and we went on our way. After going into a nearby store we walked out only to see the attendant had come back AGAIN asking that we show her where the sticker was placed threatening to "check her cameras". She had locked her store doors to come find us to ask where this $5 sticker was. She was smug assuming that she had caught a thief. We went back in showed her where the sticker was and moved on. After some careful consideration I decided to politely confront the woman letting her know her behavior felt extremely targeted & very out of line. I'm sure we were not the first to walk in and decide against an item putting it down out of it's proper place. Should my daughter have put the sticker back where she got it? Yes. Should she have been accused not once, but 2x of stealing it? No. I find it odd that out of all the people in the store she chose to watch us so closely that this would even be noticed, let alone handled in such an extreme way. If you're trying to survive in business you dont treat ANY customer this way. We will never shop at this store again. I'm all for supporting small business & happily do my best to. If there was an option for zero stars, this place would receive it. Went to this place with a few friends today and a woman entered without a mask on. I did not complain, I simply told the woman at the counter “I’m not sure if you’re aware, but there is a woman without a mask in the store. Just wanted to let you know.” And she proceeded to tell the mask-less woman “I really don’t care at all, but they’re complaining that you’re not wearing a mask.” The anti masker then peddled back some bs excuse for not wearing one, and the woman did not argue her at all and went back behind her desk. She had absolutely no concern for protecting herself or her customers from COVID-19, or keeping her store covid free. I do not recommend ever visiting this store if you care about your health. It’s very…quirky. If that’s your thing, good for you!- but it’s definitely not my thing. Not a very good selection of T-shirts, sweatshirts, or really anything in my opinion. Kind of reminded me of a witchy, hippy mixture of a store, and I’m not sure how those things managed to mix but they did. All the clothes seemed to consist of “Bigfoot stole my beer!” Or “Bigfoot stole my weed!” Or “Bigfoot stole my wiener!” (A hotdog.) and I just didn’t really find any all that amusing, if amusing at all.
