The place that you are looking at on this platform, is not the place you will arrive at when you visit. The important thing about the review I am writing is that my biggest issue is the dissonance. It is not to say whether things here are good or bad, only that they are not what is shown.
The photos in Google represent a quaint brunch spot, with a green, plant based, and friendly environment. The photos of the menu promise an experience, they mention environmental impact, they highlight a vegan lifestyle. You are lulled into a dream-like state imagining your vegan party is about to engage in a sweet coastal brunch. They show a boutique, with hanging plants and vibey lighting.
When you arrive you are greeted with a strange mix of a late night pizza joint and a games cafe. There is an Iron Maiden pinball machine blasting the Trooper while the overhead speakers play classic jam band hits from the 60's and 70's.There is a 4 ft tall jenga game on a wooden stage that a child will knock over constantly. There is a gigantic TV in the back with old video games but only one of the controllers works. There is a rack of old Nat Geo magazines that, while kinda neat, are completely out of place and pretty dingy. The menu is now a printed nightmare in a standard black laminated book that says nothing about anything plant-based, even though when asked they definitely still have all of the plant based food. It's poorly lit, the table arrangement makes no sense, there is no color.
Again to re-iterate here, this review is not to say that the place is "bad", only that it is grossly misrepresented here. If you were shown the place as-is you could make an educated decision about coming. If you have kids, it's probably a good spot, if you want pizza late at night, it's probably a good spot, if you want to kind of play video games, it's probably a fine spot. If you are looking for a cozy brunch on coast,...
Read moreI went in there thinking, "great a place with gf and vegan options", but then I got in there and was behind someone that was ordering. Wasn't greeted or acknowledged when I came in but just assumed it was because they were busy with that customer's order since I'm too in the service industry and you can be distracted. Once they were done however the woman proceeded to leave and go do others things. Mind you literally right in front of me, it's a tiny little area where you order right at the bar, so I'm staring at her waiting to be "seen". Still wasn't acknowledged or greeted. She looked at me but continued to do other things. The other guy working there the same. Was working on stuff and still I stand there at the counter unacknowledged. Not even a hey gotta do some things here real quick and I will be right with you, absolutely nothing. She finally looked up at me and said something like "hey", to which I replied hello, but still did not come to take my order or say anything further to me. Then another customer came in (white) and she dropped everything she was doing to help her with her to go order, doing this transaction around me as I'm still at the counter, and then literally walked off after they left and continued to not acknowledge me or take my order. To give context on time I was in there standing for 10mins. It was giving 1950's diner, "we don't serve your kind here" vibes. So I left. I've never been treated like that so blatantly before it was honestly very jarring. Two more (white) people came in as I left and I saw through the window she came right up to the counter to help them. I've been coming to Lincoln City my whole life and haven't experienced anything like this before. Maybe people feel more bold these days but I was extremely offended and disappointed with this establishment and would...
Read moreWhen I walked in it was pretty empty they had good reviews so after leaving the 60s Cafe that didn't have breakfast I was excited to try the crepes I opted for a veggie crepe The Crepe was beautiful !and the veggies good but my only comment that has no zest its called Zest Creperie....but it lacked salt, pepper or any spice...it needed more pizzazz!! It didnt jump out ...i just added some salt etc and it jumped! The veggies we're good ,but way to fine chopped I mentioned to the waitress that I believe they could go with course or a bigger chop and even par cook the veggies so they're nice bright and distinct and the crepe itself was delicious so my only complaint is a little bigger veggies so we can at least see what they are and more spice!that also goes for the avacado sausce....just bland!....the house coffee and cream was etc....but i missed they had espresso machine!!my bad!!. All in all I'll be back to see if they have an improvement and my suggestion is if you like your food tasty and delectable request them to spice it when they sautee it!!! And be sure to give everyone a break the waitress just started there's a new cook in the kitchen and it'll get better and I hope to try even better crepe next time so we can put a five-star on this!!😉🙂😎.....o want to add that the owner has had some negative reviews but really doesnt seem tl respond!....to grow and be sucessful you must really take things to heart...!!.....a chef once told me one good review...25 people might pay attention.....but 1 bad review and a 100 folks see it so your always trying to answer the call...then he said your a sucess!! He was a Chef that won the James Beard competition more than once I took that to heart in my...
