LA Vocal Booths — Local services in Los Angeles

I am an audiobook narrator.  Unable to record from home due to the space and noise restrictions, I had been renting a booth when the Covid-19 pandemic hit.  The expense of my rental was becoming onerous and now I would have to concern myself with sharing a tight, enclosed box with a revolving door of other people.  I had to have an independent studio.  I found an office and LA Vocal Booths.

I was nervous, simply because I was about to spend a proper amount of money on a properly professional purchase.  Chris listened to my needs, talked me through the entire process, answered all my questions in a timely and thorough manner, adjusted information as we caught and reconsidered little things here and there so that the end result would be just to my specifications.  I felt heard and taken care of.

I live close enough to the California workshop that I drove out to both pay for and then pick up the finished booth, having rented a Uhaul.  During the pickup, Chris actually surprised me by going above and beyond, and meeting me at the workshop to make sure everything was in final order!  The booth was assembled in the workshop for me to view, and the craftsmans explained how it all went together and the features.  Then it was all taken apart for me to observe, wrapped up and put in the Uhaul.

One might consider paying for delivery and installation, if it's available to you.  I did not, and a certain amount of hilarity ensued.  The construction is very easy and relatively self-explanatory, detailed instructions were provided, that's all great.  Where we struggled was the unexpected weight of the panels and getting them into the elevator and office ourselves.  Once we overcame that hurdle, smooth installation.  Just have handy friends and more muscle than you think you need...!

The booth is beautiful, inside and out.  I got the "Featured 6' x 4'" with the Tier 2 acoustic package.  Standard lighting and ventilation, basic package all around otherwise.  The space is effective for my work, and I feel very confident stepping into the booth.  More than anything I know that I've made a solid investment in my career that will be able to travel with me wherever I go, disassembled and reassembled without losing any integrity to the sound quality it provides.  Additionally, I feel like I have a partner in LA Vocal Booths, and should I need any assistance with my purchase or have any questions in the future, that I'll be taken care of with the same level of...

LAVB's delivers a top of the line whisper room-like booth that is more beautiful than any booth you've ever been in. Fully customizable in terms of color, thickness, ventilation, lighting etc. Solid construction, and in terms of acoustics they've thought of everything to make the booth as sound proof as possible.

The company is experiencing a surge in sales and they are overworked and understaffed. It may be challenging to reach anyone, so try to be understanding. Shipping is also challenging. The booth was much more difficult to put together than they described. But if you hire a construction professional, as I did, you'll be fine.

Overall, LAVBs make a world class product. And I'm still glad I went with them over StudioBricks or Whisper Room or anyone else. I wish them nothing but success as they have given me the necessary upgrade to succeed in my career.

With the pandemic, there was no touring, so I had some time and was inspired to build a new studio in North Hollywood, CA for Broken Complex. Working and recording so many artists, the vocal booth was going to be the most important part of the build. When I reached out to LAVB, I immediately clicked with these guys over a mutual love of music, recording, and quality. I had some basic ideas for what I wanted in a recording booth, but Chris took this experience above and beyond what I imagined. They got me going with a 4x6 booth, hardwood floors, led lighting, quiet fans and ventilation, laptop shelf, monitor stand; THE WORKS! Not to mention how nice and dead it sounds in there. I've already recorded five or six different artists in there, in addition to busting out all my percussion instruments and being able to get some great quality samples using the booth.
