Artist Housing — Hotel in Los Angeles

Rented a room for 2 nights but couldn't stay past the first and wouldn't have even stayed then if I could have gotten another place. Arrived later in the evening for check in around 5:20PM for a show at 7PM. Everything seemed okay at first but then had issues with being told that they received no payment from me, even after providing several forms of proof that payment was made, after this someone from managment made the comment of sometimes guests have to pay a remaining balance after arriving but this was reflected no where in the reservation. After talking it over for several minutes they decided to drop the matter until they could look into it further. I assume this issue was resolved at least simce i heard nothing back, but would highly suggest looking into these matters first before claiming no payment has been made and contacting your reservation sites prior to bothering guests with such issues.

After this I left for the show and was gone until 12-1AM, on arriving back I quickly got ready to head to bed as I originally planned on using the next day to do some exploring for my first visit to LA, however quickly found the bed provided to be infested with bed bugs and received bites all over, I left as soon as there was a bus running to the airport around 2:20AM, while on the bus also saw 3-4 bedbugs crawling on my bags, so instead of getting to enjoy my trip visiting, spent the remainder of my time at the airport in order to get home. Bedbugs in most rooms without fumigation, roach infestation in the kitchen, management/RA on drugs, amenities advertised do not exist such as studio, no maid service, there is no vetting of guests therefore not a artist community but a halfway house, you will mostly live with people who are close to homelessness or battling addiction, no internet for months at a time, faulty hot water, witnessed somebody OD on the premises, fights as well as rampant theft among guests, landlord and property management company are unprofessional, it is run shoddily and under the table with informal leases & hiring, Landlord offers expedited return of deposit in return for a 5 star review, ignore them, they are fake reviews. Spend the extra $50 - $100 for a huge difference in quality of living somewhere else, trust me.

Affordable, convenient, and fun!

I love the super-sociable living environment, I get to meet so many like-minded individuals. It's very close to colleges like FIDM and USC. Location is perfect for me.Networking with fellow artists has been awesome since I'm new to town.

I save money on rent, the gym (which is located in the building for free), and I don't have to trek to the library to use a computer and office space. Free storage, and beautiful showers.

The property manager is very reasonable and is nice enough to work with tenants on things like late fees. It's sad that kids with no real-world experience try to take advantage of him and leave bad reviews because they don't understand how business works and how harsh the real world is.
