DON’T GO HERE They cut me and did weird things with their pricing.
I came here to have a full set removal, and then get my nails trimmed down and have a new set put on with acrylic extensions and gel color.
The first problem was that they didn’t really properly remove the old set. They just let it soften a little bit and then basically scraped it off, removing a couple layers of my actual nails with it. I know that to some extent this is unavoidable, but it felt really lazy and they definitely did more damage than they needed to. She was tough enough that it hurt.
They didn’t have samples of a lot of their colors. The problem with not having samples out is that the colors don’t look the same in the bottle as they do when they are cured, so it can make it difficult to pick out a color. She basically ended up kind of forcing me to go with a color she thought would look good because she didn’t wanna spend the extra 10 minutes helping me find the color I actually wanted.
Almost the entire time she was working on my nails, two other women were standing over her. I got the impression she was in training or something. They didn’t really acknowledge me or respond when I asked what was up, and it made me feel a little uncomfortable because there were multiple times they were kind of in my personal space, one even bumped into me. At one point it seemed like they were commenting on the quality of the nails I was having removed? (This doesn’t make sense because the nails I was having removed were very well done-I got them done at the place I’ve been going to for 3 years).
The girl working on my nails cut me twice while she was doing them, one was on my pinkie and was pretty bad - it was bleeding for about an hour after I left the salon. She didn’t really acknowledge it and when I was like “ow! I’m bleeding” she just kind of went “hmmmm”
The price I ended up paying was also $20 more than I thought I would, I’m not totally sure what I was charged extra for, at one point she did say “that’s five dollars extra, is that Ok?” in reference to my extensions but I really don’t understand paying $20 more. She wasn’t very helpful when I asked for clarification either. I ended up just paying and leaving even though I really feel like they may have been taking advantage of me because I was a first time customer. Like I got a solid, basic color, nothing special, and that most other salons the topcoat is included in cost whether it’s matte or gloss? I know it’s usually $10 for the removal but that was already included in the original price she’d told me.
When you come in they don’t tell you anything about it being cash only, only when it’s time to pay. They conveniently have an ATM in the place so that they get that ATM fee from you on top of the inflated fee they charge you for your nails though.
The final slap in the face is nails are not actually great quality. The topcoat on the thumbnail on my right hand is lumpy because she didn’t shake the bottle before applying it, one of the nails on my left hand broke the second day I had it, and one of the nails on my right hand is now coming up and it’s been less than a week. Remember, I didn’t get a fill-They did my full set fresh so there’s no reason a nail should be coming up yet.
Overall this place just kind of seems like if you were not a regular and they don’t think you are going to be a return customer, they will not take care of you properly. You should always tell someone if the person doing their nails is in training. You should always be straightforward about costs. Cutting a customer is unacceptable, especially if you just try to act like it didn’t happen afterwards....
Read moreI made an appt for a pedicure and when I arrived I asked if they had time to do a mani as well. They said no which I figured they were probably going to be busy. When my pedi was done a woman walked in and wanted a pedi. They said they could take her. Turns out she was a walk in. I told them why would she be serviced when I was denied a mani? No one said a thing. They then tell me I would need to wait 30 mins and told her 15 mins. Wait. What? Another woman next to me said "that doesn't make any sense." They end up telling the woman waiting it would be a 30 min wait and tht I'll get my mani in 15 mins. The other leaves and says she'll return. I wait 20-25 mins. Finally, the manager calls me after she finished with another customer. *I assumed she finished with her * She does my nails but in a RUSH. When my nails were drying the manager was going to take the walk in but the other woman customer who was seated before me wasn't having it. They begin to argue back and forth. Turns out the manager had removed her acrylics and had her wait after she did my mani but a walk in arrived. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The customer insisted she continue doing her nails but the manager said she was TIRED and wouldn't charge her for removing her old acrylics. The customer wasn't having it. Glad she spoke up. At this point, I just wanted to leave. Plus...the chemicals were so HEAVY and it felt warm inside!! I felt nauseous. When I arrived home I realized tht my cuticles were still rough. Around the nails too. The color I chose was beautiful but now the edges around my nails looked a mess!! I wanted to like this place but it's a BIG...
Read moreI've been coming to Sweetly Nails for over a year and a half. I even moved to the Valley during this time and continue to go back. The salon is located in the shopping plaza with Trejo's Donuts so there are parking spots. It can get crowded at times, but I always try to go on the week days. They do all types of nails, (regular, gel, dip powder, cat-eye, and designs). But what I've gathered as a repeat customer is only certain technicians do the dip powder, so if this is service you're interested in I'd suggest calling to make an appointment. Amy has been my go to person since my first day there. She's easy to work with and my nails always look great. I have witnessed on two separate occasions women come in and get well over $150 worth of work done on their hands and feet then make up an excuse to "get money from the car" and then not come back in to pay. All the women in this shop work hard, especially when customers ask for special designs or other time consuming extras. They deserve to be paid for their services, treat them with respect and pay them for the service...
