Cleanliness of room was horrible blood on the sheets, walls and bed bugs everywhere there is mold underneath the wallpaper overall it was a very dirty room. My brother sister, 4 yr old nephew and I went on vacation to California. We were it in West Hollywood area and needed a place to stay. We found the budget in online so we booked the hotel and paid $110 for the night. Coming into the room it was a bit small but I didn't expect much from the hotel. We brought all our stuff inside and we're going to relax the rest of the day. Before laying down on the bed I checked the sheets as per usual and I noticed dried up blood on the sheets. I took the sheets off the bed to make sure there wasn't anything more. When I did that I saw bed bugs around the entire bed. Whether it was the droppings or blood or the actual bug itself either way there was bed bugs everywhere on and around both of the beds in our room. We started to look around the room to see if there was anything other than the bed bugs that was wrong before going to the office. There was more blood stain on the walls and on the dresser that was in between the beds. We notice some bed bug droppings on the wall where the wallpaper was starting to rip so we went over to look and when we slightly pulled back the paper there was mold growing on the inside of a wall. My brother is an all-over handyman he has worked with so many different things from building houses to cleaning them. He's the one who noticed the mold there were pockets on the wall behind the wall paper that had water in them. somewhere in that building there is a leak that has yet to be fixed for I don't know how long. We turn on the AC unit and it smeledl like a cat crawled up inside of it and died so we left it off. after seeing all the things we went to the office to let them know of our concerns. We approached them gracefully and kind the receptionist brought himself the maintenance guy and the property manager inside of our room to look at the issues. The entire time they were in there they kept saying nothing was wrong with the rooms they said the bugs were not bugs they were just dirt. They denied everything we said until my brother said listen I know what mold is and I know a bed bug had to explain to them why we say if there's mold and why they were bed bugs but these people were so rude that they just kept on denying everything. We immediately asked for our money back they gave us a full refund then preceded to tell to leave the property. We grabbed all of our belongings and left the place. One thing that really bothered me was the fact that they did nothing to fix the issue. They made us leave and probably rented out the room to some other poor unfortunate soul. This is the reason bedbugs are such a pandemic in America because places like this do nothing to resolve the issue. They continuously rent out rooms they know are infested with bugs and let people take them home. If we would have stayed the night there I am pretty sure we would have bed bugs now or we would have been bitten to shreds. We ended up washing everything that we put inside of that room for the fear of getting these bugs. As of right now the mold did not have any effect on us I don't know if it was toxic mold or not but either way it could not be in a place where people sleep. If it was up to me I'd shut the place down put a tent around it and unleashed the pits of Hell on it. I normally don't say things like this but for us to pay that much for a bug, blood infested room is completely wrong they need to be reprimanded for what they are doing or shut down till the issue is gone or close the...
Read moreThis Inn gets a bad rap because of it's location. We recently stayed here for 4 days on business and we found it to be totally fine. Check in was literally 5 mins. The person at the counter was very nice, courteous and helpful. The thing is people want to pay cheap prices but expect a 5 star hotel/gourmet meal experience and it don't work like that. We were immediately assigned a room. We selected a room that has 3 beds in it. We walked in, the room was nice and clean. Sheets were nice and clean. The A/C worked very well, we had to turn it down because it got very cold. The bathroom was very specious with working hot and cold water. The beds were not Hilton quality but were nice and comfy. The floor was pretty new, freshly painted. Not once did we see any insects, spiders nor any of those things people claim on other reviews. Any time we needed anything from room service or the person at the office, we got it. Room service is not every day but they do come in and clean. The TV was working with cable channels. The room had bright lights that worked. We slept all night with no issues. No one in the hallways or screaming like other reviews claim. it was nice and quiet. No included breakfast obviously. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. The area is sketchy because of the looks of it. Outside of the Hollywood boardwalk you will see lots of graffiti and homeless people here and there. But you see that on the Hollywood boardwalk as well. Hollywood is not what they paint in pictures. Will I stay here again, yes, why not. I am not going to the boardwalk and pay $300/$400 a night to stay at Loews. I didn't come here for a family vacation. I came here on business and the least thing I did is spend time in the room. So this Inn worked out just fine and...
Read more1-Star Review: Unsafe, Filthy, and Reeks of Smoke – Do Not Stay Here
The only positive things I can say about Budget Inn Hollywood are that the sheets, toilet, and sink were clean, the staff was friendly, and they had a new TV with HBO. Beyond that, this place is an absolute disaster—I’m not even sure it’s legally operating in this condition.
The room was damp and reeked of cigarette smoke so badly that I had to take all my clothes to a laundromat after switching hotels. There was no heat, and the water barely got lukewarm. The towels were blue and stained with bleach marks, and every surface had chunks missing. Burn marks were everywhere—likely from drug paraphernalia. The AC unit was broken, the windows didn’t lock, and there was no ice machine available. No hair dryer. No condoner. No iron/board. No hangers. Just the barest of “amenities”.
On top of the terrible condition, the place felt completely unsafe. People were coming and going all night, being loud and disruptive. Nine different people pounded on my door looking for others—one was clearly trying to make a drug deal. This was beyond sketchy and made for an incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe stay.
Despite the terrible conditions, they still had the nerve to charge a large deposit, which was outrageous given how rundown the place was. The bed had just one very thin, worn-out blanket, which was useless in a room with no heat.
There are plenty of other budget-friendly hotels nearby (including one right next door) that are far safer and cleaner. I strongly recommend staying anywhere else—this place is a health and...
