The Hollywood Initiative — Local services in Los Angeles

I genuinely appreciate being part of the Hollywood initiative alumni community. The program in Hollywood I attended in February 2025 I had training and met many amazing casting directors & the acting coaches which I learnt numerous acting staples and valuable skills from every single person, and I enjoyed the experience this helped to strengthen and develop my character work and confidence. And it was wonderful to perform and speak with numerous agents and managers too. I also made friends in the boot camp and outside the boot camp too. As an neurodivergent woman and British native from Caribbean heritage, I fitted in and was cared for with understanding, respect, and patience, also I mutually shared the same back with positive uplifting vibes to all fellow actors & coaches too. I had fun out there too. Through the tough intensive activities, I proved my resilience and my commitment; although i came across a challenge, i kept myself open with communication and still tried things out regardless. My experience resurrected my confidence, as well as my character role versatility, emotional range of characters & different types of genres and highlighted specific themes I excel in and ones I’m still exploring & expanding on which I’ve totally improved on. My rehearsal techniques/memorisation skills have improved too and the ongoing mentorship clarified what steps to follow and how to approach what i want… Great news, it worked because I been getting casted and been successfully filming a variety of film/tv projects for 2025. What can I say about The Hollywood Initiative and the eponymous Nancy? It was wild, it was challenging, it was invigorating, it was inspiring and it was immensely fulfilling! If you are serious about taking your acting to the next level don't think twice about it as Nike says - "Just Do it." You will learn so many valuable things on this episodic season intensive not just about yourself, but also about the other amazing actors that will be part of your congregation and you will meet and work with some of the best acting coaches and casting directors in the business. It was phenomenal experience and I am still on an LA high from it! You will be changed after this and will learn the tools that you need to solidify your brand, market the s* out of yourself, and acquire the right contacts you need if you are serious about making it in the business and Tinseltown. It was such an amazing experience getting to learn more about the industry in america and learning the differences with our industry in the UK and knowing what you need to do and change to fit how it works there. It was great hearing from different people in the industry (coaches, casting directors) and having the opportunity to get their input on your performance and also learning the different techniques in acting and being able to explore the different areas of acting like mocap and VO. Not to mention the amount of support you get from Nancy! She is amazing! She knows exactly how to bring out the best in people and how to push you but she also cares so much about you and is there for you to support and uplift you! It was honestly one of the most amazing things i have ever done and for such a good price! I grew so much which i didn’t think possible in 10 days but i did i become so much more confident with myself and acting and I have learnt so much!
