It's not surprising to me in the least that the ratings for this practice are so low. We started with Dr. Al-Safi back in September 2018 and the entire experience was a nightmare! He was arrogant and dismissive to me and my husband on several occasions. Whenever we would have a legitimate medical question about the IVF process he would immediately shut us down by saying things like "let's not be negative." And "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." Our questions and concerns were never addressed. We feel his responses were not only extremely inappropriate but unprofessional aswell. I had a surgery to remove my fallopian tube and after the surgery I was in so much pain! For weeks I sat there in agony! When my husband called Dr. Al-Safi to report the state I was in he told us I was fine and to take Tylenol for the pain. He also lied on my medical records and put my pain was "well managed". It's 2020 and I still experience pain on my left side where the surgery site is, sometimes so extreme it prevents me from being too active. I find it hard to lift a 40lbs bag of animal feed since the surgery site will start hurting. I had the surgery back in November 2018. My pain is most definitely not "well managed". It seems to me that Dr. Al-Safi is a male doctor with very little to no empathy for his female patients. If he isn't going to take them seriously then he shouldn't be working with women. I spoke to UCLA about all of this however they have failed to inform me of any kind of resolve. I would at least like to know they made an attempt to properly educate a doctor working for their hospital on the importance of listenting to his patients questions, concerns, and needs! I would recommend California Fertility Partners. They were very professional, empathic to our situation, and good at answering our questions and concerns without making inappropriate dismissive comments to silence us! My advice to any potential patients considering UCLA is don't bother wasting your time and tens of thousands of dollars on a fertility practice that doesn't even care about the lying doctors they employ or the needs of...
Read moreThis has been my experience too many times here so I had to leave a review: I checked in on time and waited exactly 90 minutes before the doctor came into the room. My appointment was 10:30am, I saw her at 12:00pm. That is unacceptable. I wasn’t put into a room until 11:15am. Thinking I was going to see her within the hour of my scheduled time or shortly after being put in a tiny room. To be there that long is again UNACCEPTABLE. I have a full time job in healthcare, and it’s already hard enough to get an appointment in this office that works with my schedule, so please RESPECT my time!!! I can't afford to be out of office for 2 hours time. Or if you know you’re running behind, call me to come later so I am NOT WASTING TIME!! And I was even more upset that NO ONE said "sorry for the wait" followed by an explanation of why I am waiting so long. Disrespectful!
Sadly this is NOT my first time dealing with this. This has happened to me on 3/3 of my visits here. This experience being my longest wait!! DO BETTER UCLA! However, I will be leaving this office once I...
Read moreI’ve had my appointment pushed back TWICE now. I scheduled one in March and they told me the next available one is on December 14th. I have to wait 9 months to get an appointment only to get a call today (3 weeks before my appointment that I have been patiently waiting for) saying the doctor will be out for vacation and won’t be able to see me until February. So I have to wait almost a whole year just to get an appointment. Absolutely ridiculous. I waited all this time just to have this doctor make me wait more. I would give this zero star if the receptionist wasn’t so nice on the phone. Other than that I can see why there are so many poor reviews. Seems like the doctors here care less about your health or needs making you wait almost a year. This is completely unacceptable, so unprofessional, and disorganized....
