The Thrifty Hippie store is overall is a nice place. I got a nice pair of jeans from the Vintage Home D vendor. I would also highly recommend Joyce Johnson's mystery shop. I bought some lovely (and authentic) mystery items and stickers from there! The mystery books were nicely wrapped, in great condition, and included extra items. The mystery beanie baby came with tags on it and was also in excellent condition! However, the Child of Balan vendor is selling mystery tarot sets for $25. The majority, if not all, of the set is from SHEIN. Some SHEIN labels have even been left on the products. I find it disappointing that the Thrifty Hippie store would condone vendors reselling extremely cheap SHEIN items at a high markup price, especially since the products are wrapped so that the buyer can not see this until the item is purchased. I was under the impression that I was supporting local businesses, not paying nearly 5 times the cost for someone reselling SHEIN items. Unfortunately, the Thrifty Hippie store has a no refunds/returns policy. I understand why this policy is in place but find it a bit frustrating in a situation like this. I practically wasted $25 on items worth around $5 total that I will not even be keeping due to their poor quality. Photos are attached of all the items (good and bad) that I purchased, including some of the corresponding SHEIN listings of the Child of Balan...

Read moreThis store is beyond fun! They've only been open for about 4 months and they are packed with a wide variety of fun items from over 75 local area vendors! They even take consignments upon approval. All major forms of payment are accepted and the prices so far are fair. I have some friends that I'm going to introduce to this place but I'm not going to tell them where it is because I want to take them there myself ( my excuse to go back 😁 ). BTW, the owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful 💕 January 7th 2025 update: Some of these talented vendors are now offering classes so that you too can learn how to work with resin, mosaics and smudging. I'm not exactly sure what smudging is but there's a workshop for it! Check out the different classes and look for ways not only to have fun but expand...
