For the price it was just ok. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and the automatic gratuity equaled $95.51. I dont think I'd urge anyone to try this restaurant at this price point. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it either though.
There's small things that could be done to elevate the menu that would make it worth another try.
I got the Mediterranean Burger. Came with "tapenade" that wasn't tapenade, it was just simply sliced/diced kalamata olives, which was really disappointing as I love tapenade. Had a very small sprinkle of feta which was one issue, but another issue is that with feta being crumbly it tends to fall off of whatever you're eating (especially something sloppy like a burger). I wish they would have went with a whipped feta especially if they're going to use diced kalamata olives. It would give the olives something to stick to instead of falling while you're trying to eat. My last gripe about the burger were the thick slices of cucumber. If they do nothing else, PLEASE ribbon the cucumber instead to make it easier to eat on the burger or serve them on the side as a Mediterranean quick pickle.
My son's chicken sandwich was basic with aioli for a little razzle dazzle. But of course the chicken was dry.
We had wings for our appetizer. They were perfect but was supposed to come with blue cheese dressing which we never received.
I ordered the G&T Gin (i think that was the name). That drink needs some revamping. The flavors that I was excited about experiencing were non-existent, which is hard to do with ginger. Ramp up those flavors please.
Our waiter was nice, but maybe he was new? Took us a while to receive the check even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. I tried to wave him down, and of course used social cues such as plates pushed away and purse on the table.
Our food and drinks came quickly. Hot, and generally good despite my slight complaints. The fries and wings were probably the best part of the meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Grown and sexy lounge sort of feel. I was on my way to the baseball game, so I felt under dressed when I popped up with my son. Restaurant, tables, and...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Curfew American Tavern ⭐☆☆☆☆ During my recent business stay at the Canopy Hotel in downtown Memphis, I decided to dine at Curfew American Tavern to avoid venturing out in the freezing 18-degree weather. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
I arrived at 4:48 PM and was promptly seated and handed a menu by a friendly waitress. After a brief moment, she returned to take my drink order, and I decided to order both my appetizer (barbecue shrimp) and entrée (baked chicken) at the same time. However, the efficiency ended there.
It took 40 minutes for my appetizer to arrive, and even then, I wasn’t provided with utensils or napkins. While I didn’t need utensils for the shrimp, the lack of basic dining essentials was surprising. After catching the waiter’s attention, I was handed an abundance of napkins—enough to last a month!
Another 40 minutes passed before my entrée finally arrived, and it was underwhelming, to say the least. The baked chicken was bland, the green beans were undercooked, and the mashed potatoes had cold, icy patches in the middle. It was clear the meal hadn’t been prepared with care.
Adding to the disappointment was the staff’s behavior. A group of employees gathered at the bar, engaging in personal conversations, even placing a food order for themselves. This lack of professionalism was frustrating, especially when I had to beckon for attention twice more just to get a refill on my water and my check. When I requested a to-go cup for water, the waiter returned with to-go boxes instead.
To my dismay, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. Perhaps this explains the staff’s lack of motivation and attentiveness. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, she emerged from the same group of employees at the bar who had been chatting away.
This was an incredibly disappointing dining experience. While I have several upcoming stays booked at the Canopy Hotel, I will not return to Curfew. The lackluster service, unprofessional staff, and subpar food do not justify the convenience...
Read moreI made surprise reservations for my wife’s birthday. During our travels we try to hit up top chef’s restaurants and since Fabio’s place just opened I was super stoked to take her here. Upon arrival we waited at least 2 minutes until we were greeted. We were then directed to the lounge to wait until a table was ready. (We were not offered a cocktail) I approached the hostess stand 10 minutes later, it was then I was asked if we wanted indoor/outdoor seating. I stated outdoor. A few moments later a hostess brought us to a table INDOORS. I told her there was mistake and it was immediately corrected. A server came over but never instructed how to get menus (Covid, everything is virtual) she only asked what we wanted to drink. She did then bring paper menus. We told her we needed a few minutes and she said “take your time, I’ll be back” she came back with our drinks and asked if we have decided. We had not. The server then says “in case you need help deciding, we don’t have this entire section” THE FLATBREADS. No flatbreads were available. That would have been nice to know before looking over the menu and my mouth started to water. (She never introduced herself so I couldn’t tell you her name) I settled for the pancakes and my wife the breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were to have a peanut butter mousse, bananas and bacon. It was overwhelmed with strawberries and blueberries which were of no mention on the menu. Highly disappointing. I then received two separate texts. One from my mom, one from my wife’s best friend. Both saying that they called the restaurant and tried to have something sent to the table but the hostess (Alex??) was rude and said it was illegal to do that. By watching top chef, a restaurant with this many mistakes would have never made it through restaurant wars. We loved Fabio on the show but Curfew needs to get it together. It was not worth our time or money. Highly...
