Churchills BarberShop — Local services in Miami

I've been going to Churchill's for about 3 years now and I cannot say enough good things about this place. My barber is Matthew Sicher and he is the reason I wanted to write this review, every self respecting man should be getting his hair cut with him; he is not just one of Churchill's "Master Barbers", he defines the term.

In the two years he's been cutting my hair I have never walked out of the shop anything less than thrilled with the way I look. Bringing him a picture helps a lot and he only needs to take one glance before giving you that perfect cut you are looking for. I tend to switch my style around every few months (I've had it long, medium and short) and he gets it right every time.

The place itself is nothing short of spectacular, it's always very clean and in pristine condition. The leather chairs are very comfortable and so is the leather couch used for waiting (Make an appointment, I usually go during the week since I work nearby and in 3 years I have never had to wait). Since I work downtown I take the Metro Mover to it, take the Inner Loop to Miami Ave. Station (The Macy's one), it is literally across the street from Churchill's, it couldn't possibly be more convenient.

It's true that this is a place for men, and I mean that in a good way; the TV is always playing news or sports, the music is cool and the magazines are all men's magazines (Playboy, Hustler, Motor Trend), if that's not your thing, know that you can avoid them altogether. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home.

The service is phenomenal, for $25 you get what is probably the best haircut you've ever had and an old school neck and sideburns shave to boot (Nobody else in Miami does this, and once you've done it once you'll never want to get another haircut without it). They also do hot shaves, I barely have facial hair, but if I did I'd definitely get one of those too.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this place and Matthew in particular. Judge for yourself, call to make an appointment with him, mention you read about him on Yelp and see what a real barber can do for your hair. Churchill's is a truly unique Miami spot that every man should experience.

EDIT: I just want to update my review to say that I have now been going to Matthew at Churchill's for 3 years or so, that's a good 36 haircuts I've had with him and every single one has been flawless and perfect. As far as I'm concerned there's no better...

Such a disappointing experience. Walked in and inquired about getting a beard trimming and was initially told they were completely booked for the day. Honestly there was one patron waiting for a cut and that is all so I was extremely confused as to how they had no open spots. The woman at the front desk told me she'd take my number and call me if any spots became available. I get called and return to the shop and keep in mind I was a first time customer. I descriptively explained to the woman barber how I wanted my beard to be groomed. Long story short she hands me the mirror after she's 85% complete and asks me if this is what I was going for. After telling her 3 times that my moustache was patchy and that the left side of my beard wasn't even and matching up with the right side, she says "What exactly do you want Papi? I'm not the best with beards"

You have to be KIDDING me right ? How do you tell me at the very end that you are not the "best with beards" ????!!!

It's never a good feeling when you're being taken advantage of and mislead because someone wants to make money. I paid 15$ for a completely disatisfying job. This is supposed to be a Men's Grooming shop and I walked in thinking that beard trimming would most definitely be a forte' of theirs. I would...

Very professional but today I went in and got a haircut from Carlos. He asks what I wanted and I told him just a high fade nothing off the top. He proceeded with the fade and finished. He asked how I wanted the top, I told him nothing I’m letting it grow out. He then got scissors and I thought he was going to start a trim or maybe the long hairs to make it look neat. I was wrong he cut the top pretty small. I am furious I’m trying to let it grow out and this man just started to cut it off. The haircut is done well but ITS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. ALSO !!! When he was at the end of my haircut with the razor I felt a small sting. I look up and I see him make a face then I see him turn around and laugh with the lady that’s handles the money behind the bar table. VERY Disappointed because I paid 28$ for it to be treated like this. I also tip so I don’t understand why these people did what they did. Never coming back.
