Laughable is a good way to describe this business. I was trying to surprise my girlfriend for a birthday date and was surprised to see that this Escape Room charged $70/person. I thought to myself, that's quite expensive. So I had written a review about how expensive it was and the manager responded saying they NEVER charge $75 a person. The picture attached clearly shows 2 people for $141, I guess it's not $75 but still close. They then had written to me and discussed why it was that expensive. Mind you I'm a paying customer. I had already bought the experience even though it was expensive. However, they did not care if I paid or not. They just kept saying bring more people and it's cheaper per person. Okay, so bring you more money makes it cheaper, I guess that makes sense. I asked if a refund was possible, they said no all sales are final. So I ask if I can add two more people and to charge my card. They respond saying you booked the room and it fits 7 people, when I get there I can pay for the rest. I said ok. And was just waiting till the day of the experience. Couple days go by and all of a sudden I get an email saying I'm being denied service for my malicious intent. All I did was point out how expensive it was (picture attached from website). So I asked for a refund and they say they can't and DEMANDED to have my address to send me a check. There's a couple things wrong with this: Were in the 21st century, we've figured out how to refund people's credit cards. It even says in the fine print that they can only refund if Fox in the Box cancels (which they did). So that's balone. Asking for my address to send a check? That sounds fishy. Almost like they want to avoid the refund in the system to not look bad.
I did not want to provide my address to a business that has taken a paying customers money and has now refused the service. So they said too bad. If you want, there's a check here waiting for you or you can cancel through your bank. Doesn't seem like good customer service to me. I had asked why she was being so unprofessional and she just kept saying I was a liability. I'm a liability for writing a review based off there pricing.
As funny and as ridiculous as this story may seem, it's true. I honestly couldn't believe the service received as a paying customer. I knew the prices were high but still took decided to pay it to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday. And instead of the manager thinking of changing my mind and providing a great experience to change my review down the road about price, I'm harassed and denied entry. That's the last time I ever spend a penny at this place. Now I have to dispute through my bank this ridiculous charge because they refuse to refund me the normal way.
UPDATE: After pointing out in there own Terms that they CAN refund, their system was magically able to refund. (Picture attached) In fact, they pointed out the same line to me. (I'm guessing they didn't read it themselves). And they CONTINUE to lie by saying I threatened them in emails to probably get review taken down (that's low). I've only asked questions about my booking. I've taken my business elsewhere, not worth my time and money for a mediocre experience in an unprofessional business that's full of lies.
Booking at a different business allowed me to save a ton of money and use that to buy drinks and dinner, on top of the game.
All I can say is that the photo evidence...
Read moreI think my biggest mistake was not reading the reviews before going to Fox In a Box. Let me start of with, I have been to plenty of room escapes not only in Florida but outside of Florida. It’s one of my favorite things to do when I go to a new city. With that being said this has been one of the most terrible experiences I have had in room escape. Let’s start off with arrival, parking is incredible hard to find and incredible scary. With that being said I have never had a problem with arriving 5 mins late to a room escape. When we got the there the lady told us that because we where late the timer had already started. We proceeded to wait in the lobby for another 10 mins because they had to set up other players in their rooms and then go over the basic rules ( so we where now 15 mins down). At that point we are already going in with the mentality that we are not going to escape because we now don’t have enough time (The time we paid for). The room we did “ The búnker” was extremely boring, it was not interactive at all, every question was a mathematical question that didn’t even make sense, they made up numbers that we had to multiply by and even had one of the props set to the wrong time which made our math wrong. When the time ran out we proceeded to go outside where one of the workers was screaming at the other players to get out of the way and all they where doing was trying to get there locked Bags and leave. We booked the last room of the day and I understand people want to go home but that’s not the way to do it. All in all it was just not the greatest experience. I will not be returning and will not recommend this location to any one. A message to the owner: I’m not looking for your response or reaction so please don’t waste your time. I can tell by your last responses to other customers that you do not care about the customers experience or will change how you are I understand that places have rules for a reason but sometimes having compassion towards others can go along way. This is simply for those of you who would like to come to this location....
Read moreGood evening, If i could give this place 0 stars i would. I was celebrating my birthday here at Fox in the Box and was absolutely disappointed. I’ve done multiple escape rooms before and never NEVER i have EVER been told we lost 10 minutes of our time when 1. We arrived ON TIME and 2. The lady at the front told us “Are you guys the other side group? Okay can you wait because we have a lot of people right now.” We gladly waited until our game master Daniel told us LAST MINUTE that we lost 10 minutes. The game itself was great but i didn’t pay $235 for them to tell us we lost 15 minutes with only 43 minutes to escape the room. The least they could’ve done was give us a reimbursement after telling us that we needed to wait. Moral of the story, don’t come here. They don’t know how to manage their time wisely after guests come ON TIME not taking accountability of their actions. Note: When we arrived on time the lady told us to wait so when we logged in was after she told us to wait. So if Fox in the Box looks into the system and tell us we “didn’t arrived on time” it’s YOUR employee’s fault not ours. I’m so disappointed with their management. Furthermore, When we were in the second room in “The Other Side”, The mirror part was broken and the game master kept asking if we can see the letters and we kept telling him no. So that part took up the rest of the no time we had just for him to come in and tell us “Oh i guess the last people in this game room moved it” and then did nothing about it. Like wow. Really?? He could’ve give us the extra time that they made us lose and fix the mirror. Anyways, Don’t come here if you don’t want to be disappointed, it’s Fox in the Box Brickell Miami. Instead i would suggest TimeBox at the Falls or The Escape Game Miami. The real escape room was trying to leave this place without something being wrong. Have...
