Black market definitely shows bias / favoritism. In my honest opinion, this was really not a good experience at all. I visited today for lunch and my waiter (really wish I remembered his name) was training a new hire, she was shadowing him. This is definitely not someone that should be leading or instructing anyone because his slight actions were extremely rude. For example, after my friend and I looked at the menu and decided we didn’t want to drink alcohol (we were fresh off a cruise which consisted mainly of drinking), she asked for just water and he asked me if I wanted something in a tone that was suggesting he expected that I was going to say no . My friend got then salmon which was supposed to be covered in garlic butter but it was just a plain piece of salmon that was tasteless so I asked for extra garlic butter and he brought out a chunk of it and tried to hand it to me in the midst of me eating instead of placing it on the table. I assumed the butter would come melted, I evidently assumed wrong. After all was said and done my food was okay. The truffle fries are good, salmon is a no-go, fried pickles were overbreaded. I then ask for 2 to go containers, he brings the containers and I asked for a bag. He tells me there are “No more bags for today” as I’m walking out struggling with items because my hands are now full, I see a man loading his food into a bag provided by the restaurant. So why can everyone else get a bag but I have to struggle to hold multiple containers and be told they have none. I asked a man in the front of the restaurant for a bag and he immediately got it after I explained that I saw someone with a bag. My kale salad was amazing no lie. But the service is a 0/10. Keep in mind I tipped extra on top of the automatic gratuity before I asked for the bag.

Lieu avec belle vue sur le port. Serveur très agréable ( Jay😉) Cocktail très bon. Bon rapport qualité/prix pour le lieu.

While vacationing at the Intercontinental Hotel, we had the delightful opportunity to explore both locations, Bayfront and downtown, on separate days. After indulging in a variety of culinary delights—tacos, Cuban sandwiches, and Argentinean cuisine for days—we eagerly embraced the chance to dive into the local bar food scene. The Bayfront location, bustling with tourists (guilty as charged), had a touch of chaos, partly due to the slower service and the overall tourist ambiance. However, the convenience of a short, enjoyable 5-minute walk to the downtown location from our hotel more than made up for it; it was truly worth the trip. Now, let's talk about the food. It may not boast the sexiest appeal, but goodness, that cheeseburger! A culinary delight exactly when you need it—cooked to perfection, bursting with freshness, and incredibly juicy. The truffle-seasoned fries were equally impressive, striking the perfect balance between crispiness and seasoning, creating an irresistible combination. This was a hot spot of the day that we enjoyed Sunday football, sipping on ice-cold beers, and relishing mouthwatering, authentic All-American grub. While service had its slower moments, especially when the bartenders were juggling responsibilities during the games, it was entirely understandable. The unsung hero, without a doubt, was the food runner, promptly fulfilling our requests, including those for condiments. Ultimately, this location provided us with an authentic local experience that we cherished during our vacation stay. For anyone visiting from out of town in search of a taste of the local scene, combined with great food and good service, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

I never review, I had to add info to Google account just now to even be able to. Here it is the middle of the night and I can't sleep not just because it was an awful dinning experience but the price was insane. The food was ho-hum at best. 2 people, nachos app, Philly sandwich, fish sandwich, 2 sodas.... over 100 dollars! It was edible but that about as far as I could complement it. Ther were 5 customers in the restraunt including my mom and I, and at least as many if not more staff in the front of the house yet my drinks were empty near the entire time. The staff was friendly and had the server spent any time doing his job, the experience would not have been worth complaining about, but instead spent the whole time talking to other staff. After dropping off the food he went outside and never even checked on the only 2 tables with customers for 20 min. Then came inside and talked to more staff. My mom asked for tartar sauce for her fish sandwich twice, but never did get it. It took 20-30 after food was dropped off before she ever even had a chance to ask they finally just took her half eaten plate away that she had stopped eating waiting for tarter which they had tried before but she restated she was waiting on tarter sauce. Eventually it was no longer worth fighting for. After the server walking by several times, with empty glasses and no food on the table, I finally had to beg for a check, which he then went to go find AND INFORMED ME OF 18.5% AUTO GRATUITY. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem tipping, in fact normally auto grat just makes me think they would have gotten a better tip had they not auto grat (and if they provided good service I would add to it some) Had he just brought me a check I would have tiped him and gone about my day disappointed briefly but overall unbothered. Had they been busy I would have understood, but this is both the least busy I have ever seen any restraunt (the only way it could be less busy would be if it was closed) and also the worse service I have ever seen anywhere. Never heard of auto grat for 2 people ushley says over 6 people. But auto grating horrible service defeats the whole point of tipping in the first place. At the point of auto grat I shared my disbelief with the server. Which I do credit him for remaining pleasant in the face of my criticism. And he was very polite from start to finish. I just (A.) Was disappointed in service after walking 1.5 miles in the sun and not geting refills on drinks. And (B) that I would be auto grated $18 for zero service in the easyist of conditions. I also have to admit serving sizes are massive, but I would still recommend eating anywhere else at bayside but here! Even with perfect service I find it hard to believe this restraunt is worthy of a 4.5 star. I believe the nacho cheese at the gas station is better the the cheese sauce they use here. Philly was desent. The server has the personality and the ability to be great at his job he just needs to pay more attention to his customers. Everyone has an off day and I wish him success in the future. And hey he did inspire me to write my first ever review, that should count...

I am trying to be fair here, because Black Market does have good food, a good selection of drinks, and reasonably decent prices. The staff was also reasonably friendly. But... let's talk specifics...

The bartenders, while friendly, were not very attentive. There were always 2 or 3 bartenders behind the bar, and the number of customers at the bar during my entire visit ranged from 7 to 11. At that ratio, I shouldn't have been left with an empty glass or waiting to order, but I was... more than once.

I was told that my order came with a side, but I could choose another. I chose another side with the same price (listed on the menu) as the included side. Nevertheless, the bill reflected a $3 upcharge for that. Of course, I wasn't told that there would be an upcharge. When I challenged the bartender, I got the typical "I guess you're screwed" shrug.

I also had sampled a beer that one of the bartenders offered me. Apparently, the sample cup usually is used to serve a $14 shot. Another bartender saw the cup and, without asking, charged me $14. I challenged this also, and the charge was removed from my bill.

Finally, an 18 percent "service charge" was added to my bill. I've seen this before, although it's pretty rare on a bill for a single party (I was alone). I did not challenge that, but I did not leave an additional tip, as I didn't feel it was appropriate. For reference, I normally tip 20 - 25 percent.

My overall impression of Black Market is that it's an OK place, but I definitely did not feel welcome, and definitely had the impression that someone was trying to take advantage of me.

I struggled deciding whether to give Black Market 2 or 3 stars, and settled on 3. It's an OK place, but I'd be wary of hidden charges on your bill and lackluster service. In retrospect... 2 stars. I cannot, in good conscience, rate Black Market on par with the many other establishments that I have given a...
