!! Please read the bad reviews, as that is actually a depiction of what it is like to live here !! - they incentivize residents to leave good reviews
This was a horrible apartment complex to live at for 15 months. This complex prioritizes the short term rentals (airbnbs) over their long term residents.
The biggest issue being the noise. If you are as unlucky as I am to live beneath one of these short term rentals, I promise you will never get a good nights sleep again. Everyday for the last 15 months I have been woken up between the hours of 12am - 4am due to guest coming home. They stomp, run, slam furniture, slam luggage, scream, play loud music, and everything else in between. LC Sobro offers zero remedy to this issue. The only option you have is to call the actual police department to come help with the noise. When addressing this with the front staff, they asked me to provided video evidence. I provided them with over 10 minutes worth of the unbearable noise and told them I could continue to provide as much evidence as needed. The front staff became condescending, rude, and provided no solution except for me to move into a worse or more expensive apartment. If you can get through the night with the noise, you will then have constant banging and slamming of furniture during the day due to the cleaning crew that has to come in multiple times a week since it is essentially a hotel room. They will not inform you that an airbnb is the unit above you when touring/moving in.
Next is the fact that this complex is so unsafe. Not only do you have random people walking through your building and using the amenities, because this place is a hotel, but you also can not find a parking spot. Once again, they prioritize the short term rentals by reserving many spots throughout the garage for the cleaning crew and random guests. Which leaves the residents having to park on the street. As many other reviews have shown, when you park in those lots your car will absolutely be broken into. They have also now decided to add a fee for parking, which is comical considering there are not enough spot for all residents to park in the garage!
The elevator will be broken multiple times a month. It was broken the day I toured (should’ve taken that as a sign) and it will be broken again and again and again. To which you have to play this fun game of not being able to get back into your apartment because they lock the doors to the stairwell. Probably because you have random people walking in and out of your apartment complex at all times.
I promise you can find a better apartment complex in Downtown Nashville. Do not waste...
Read moreA completely unfortunate living situation at LC SoBro. My partner and I turned down a lot of other apartments and condos for this particular apartment's "community", gym, and nice interior furnishings - even at its comparably higher price (2500+/month). Not only is the parking situation an absolute inconvenience (management gave out more parking passes than there were parking spots available in the garage - please read the other reviews), the apartment's contract with Sonder (3rd party Airbnb style leasing business) has really ruined the "community" atmosphere.
Every few days/ every week, a new Sonder tenant will move in and out of designated LC SoBro apartment units. Because of the apartment's prime location to downtown Nashville, these tenants are typically short-term vacationers or visitors that can get rowdy and noisy. The noise levels of these Sonder tenants have been dismally skewed to a loud and inconsiderate extreme. These tenants are not a part of the actual apartment community and are therefore not inclined to be respectful of the long-term tenants. Depending on which unit you live in, you may be below or next to a Sonder unit. We regrettably live below a Sonder unit but were entirely unaware that the unit above would be allotted to Sonder prior to us signing our lease.
Our quality of life has severely diminished due to incessant "stomping", partying noises, and frequent cleaning noises (understandable but still unfortunate) that can literally occur at any time of the day, including very late at night. It is also unfavorable that heavy movement and noise from above SHAKES our apartment unit/walls/ceilings. I can sit at my work desk with noise cancelling headphones + high volume music and still feel the vibrations/sound come through from above. I contact our local security guard almost every week to ask him to knock on the Sonder unit door and directly ask them to reduce their noise levels. I've learned that this may or may not be effective. I've considered adding the security guard's cell number to my speed dial list many times. That's how bad it is. I also correspond with the Sonder customer service line on a weekly basis to file official noise complaints, with no long-term solution in sight.
The only salvation for this place is the kindness and accessibility of the security guard, John, in combination of the convenient gym and the modern interior design. The management is nice but it is difficult to tell whether or not they're actually advocating for their residents. For its price, it is not worth living at LC SoBro given both the unfavorable parking and awful...
Read moreUPDATE: I was going to add a star to my rating because the parking situation is mildly improved. However, as noted in some other reviews, I saw that they are now having their leasing office agents leave 5 star reviews, which I find incredibly misleading but seems on par for this company.
As for the parking situation, I am usually able to find a spot if I'm home by 6pm. If you can't get a spot in the garage, there is now a surface lot across the street to park in, but it is poorly lit and marginally secure. The restaurant below has gone down in quality, and the pool bar was closed by September. I understand that staffing is probably an issue with Covid, but these were pretty big draws for us when we chose this complex.
I wasn’t going to write a review, but I think it’s only fair for potential new tenants to know what they’re getting into. When I first signed the lease (in May, before the building was at capacity), this building was perfect. Beautiful apartment, great amenities, good restaurant and coffee shop that would deliver to your door. All of that is still true, but it is completely overshadowed by the nightmare parking situation. I was told at the time that parking was free and “first come first serve,” but I was reassured by the leasing agent that there was plenty of parking available.
I cannot overstate how bad it is. Occasionally I get home early enough to get a parking spot in the garage. Last week, I got home at 7pm, and the garage, the gravel lot, and street parking were all full. I parked in a lot that had previously been available for us to park in, only to find out the next morning that my car had been towed. There were several other cars with LC Sobro stickers at the tow lot when I picked up my car. I literally feel trapped in the building when I am lucky enough to find a parking spot.
Each time we get an email from the management, the situation gets worse. There are now spots that are reserved in the garage for short term rental units only. The alternative lots no longer want us parking there. Several cars have been broken into. They did hire a security guard, but this still doesn’t solve the parking issue. Since July, there have been promises of “something in the works” to resolve this problem, but literally nothing has been done. It really is unfortunate, because this would otherwise be a good...
