Music U — Local services in Nashville-Davidson

Our two kids (9 and 12) have been taking piano and ukulele lessons from Music U for three years, and they absolutely adore their teacher, Jes Cleland. Jes is incredibly patient and supportive, always teaching them songs they love. Recently, both kids attended Music U's Rockstar camp, which was one of the best camps they've ever participated in.

In just one week, they learned to play new instruments like drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, and keyboard. They formed their own band, created a band name, logo, and even band merch. Their band learned two songs and performed at an end-of-week concert alongside another band of kids and the Music U teachers' band. They sold their merch, signed autographs, and posed for photo booth pictures.

As a parent, I was deeply impressed by their investment in the creative process. They spent their time after camp working on their songs and discussing their band's needs. The concert was mind-blowing, showcasing their hard work and talent. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved....

MusicU is a wonderful addition to our fun-filled weeks at McKendree. Ms. Jes not only makes each age group's experience fun, but does an excellent job specifically catering the lessons to their age. Each class involves lots of fun songs and engaging movement as you would expect, but she goes beyond those expectations by also teaching music theory, introducing children to a variety of types of music and instruments from different cultural perspectives, and invites special guest performers to encourage children to authentically experience live music based on the current theme. We are so happy with these weekly classes and our students and parents love the opportunity for private lessons, so we can't say enough great things...

Jes and Cam are amazing! They're not only talented singers, musicians, and writers, but also incredibly kind, patient, and great with kids. Their Rockstar camp is well-organized, fun, and perfect for beginner to intermediate young musicians. My children got to be part of a real band, write original songs, and even perform live on stage! The environment is relaxed and supportive, and Jes and Cam truly have a gift for teaching kids to love music. They also offer convenient in-home, one-on-one lessons, which have been a fantastic addition to our child’s musical journey....
