Champs Sports — Local services in New York

I think most residents of Brooklyn (NYC on the whole?) will agree that customer service is a thing of the past, particularly at shops in the Fulton Mall or Atlantic Terminal. Getting someone to look up from their phone to assist you with kindness, or god forbid, smile and say hello, it just ain't happening anymore. Which is why I had to write about my experience(s) at this Champs store. Because it was exactly the opposite of what has become the norm in Brooklyn. Everyone said "Hello" when I walked in. They were practically climbing over one another to help me. And I don't think it was because of commision-based sales. It was sincere. A truly refreshing experience. The young man at the counter was great!! He exchanged a pair of Nike 270's I had ordered online that we're too big but didn't want to exchange by mail.(so I checked online and saw the last pair was at Fulton St Brooklyn location. So I had called earlier and asked them to hold the correct size for me.).I came in and i tell him I spoke with someone and they we're gonna hold the right size for me. He looks around and they weren't behind the register! But even better he leaves and comes back (box in hand) and says they were in the office(sweet)..so happy they took the time to put them aside like they said they would. We shopped on Sunday morning 12/6/20 Love that the staff are wearing gloves and masks. They are taking every precaution they can to make us feel safe during our shopping. They clean repeatedly after every customer. They limit how many customers are in the store at a time. Great employees especially Chad who helped us with our shoe purchases. He was soooooo very friendly, patient and helpful! He was absolutely the best! I'm going back to pick up some shoes for my older sons and I'm hoping Chad will be there to assist us.
