Every time I walk in here I feel sad for the staff who look depressed. The prices here are always absurdly high so I only buy the things on sale. To give an example of how stupid the pricing is for the same dry bagged pasta that you can get in Morton williams or Fairway for 3-4 dollars it sells here for 8 dollars... it's only 2 blocks away, it doesn't cost that much to ship 2 blocks away. I went to purchase some take away sushi from this place and they took my credit card away to the office to charge it and came back... like what? Why did you have to take it to the back room?

In addition to being the most overpriced grocery store in America, D'agostinos also has plenty of mice roaming around when the store is closed

Overpriced little supermarket. Water should NEVER cost more than pop! Service was ok but the fruit and veges were very ordinary.

WHY HASN’T THIS STORE CLOSED YET?? I mean. All the other 1 start reviews cover it. I have lived across the street from this D’Agostinos for 9 years. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LAST RESORT Let’s put aside the ridiculous prices (like more than the bodegas around) but the employees are rude, sad and just all around not customer service oriented. I went to the deli today to grab some cold cuts as I was in a jam for lunch. The deli workers who was ‘cleaning’ (the whole meat section just smells bad) and it was the afternoon with no one around. She was annoyed by my presence and didn’t even bother to try to cover it up. After racking my $50 for 4 things worth of groceries (again I would never go here but I was in a jam) I proceed to checkout. Where the manager in a hat was chatting it up and lounging and the cashier had the worst demeanor ever. No hi. No do you have a rewards card, not ANYTHING CLOSE to a customer oriented checkout experience. Now, the manager is 5 steps away and watches it all (as he normally does and I can say honestly this guy should not be anywhere close to a manager) and doesn’t say a word. Not a surprise.

I continue with a please, may I, thank you… nothing from the cashier. Like NOTHING.

Beyond getting the ripped off with high prices…this place can’t even make up for it with customer service (or anything close).

I’m honestly shocked D’Agostinos continues fto ignore this issue. The amount of 1-2 star reviews, blatant disregard for cleanliness and just poor experience is beyond unacceptable.

This is just sad. While I hate to say it. I hope this store closes soon. They deserve to be shut down and be replaced by something half way decent.

Shame on the management and D’Agostinos. I mean can...

It beats me why this place is still open. There are other far better supermarkets in the area....which is one reason they should strive to set themselves apart with great service and great prices. However they obviously do not care as their prices are way higher than their competition and their employees are extremely rude and belligerent. Today marked the very last day I will ever go in here after the disgusting level of service I received. Allow me to set the scene....one person at checkout had some kind of issue going on with their purchases that meant all three register employees (possibly one managerial assistant)were crowded behind that one register. Meanwhile no other registers were open...I mean usually we have only one open in this place anyway but at this point there is a growing line of people getting impatient. I go up to the person who appears to have some kind of managerial status (well she had register keys in her hand so who knows if that is a treasure only given to managers). I ask if they are going to open another register - at this point there are about 5 people behind me and one in front. She keeps her back to me and ignores me. So I ask again. Once more ignored. I say well I guess you must be deaf as well and having had quite enough of this astonishing lack of customer service I dump my stuff on the adjacent empty conveyor belt and walk out. Let me tell you I will NEVER return. Honestly they need new employees with a new attitude in here and whoever 'manages' them obviously does nothing....

it's tough to give a positive review for this chain of stores, which i have actively worked to avoid. there are a few things that are off putting:

  1. the quality of the items. i have found produce and other items that are moldy. bottles of olive oil on the shelves have white fats in them (I'm not sure if they're old or have gone bad).
  2. the prices. food is getting more expensive across the board, but this store will mark up items 20-25% in my experience. absurdly overpriced food for the awful quality (as I mentioned, can be moldy).
  3. service. usually there is only one check out stand open and a large queue forms down the aisle. not ideal.

it's worth walking an extra few blocks to find a new store to save yourself the...
