Before making appointment with this salon I read their reviews and I like what I read. So I decided to check it out and made an appointment with them. I also checked out their website before making appointment and decided on what style I would like. I was pretty excite for new hair style and all. According to reviews they offer water bottles and whisky if client likes. So Based on reviews I was expecting place to be very modern and upscale. But unfortunately I was so disappointed as soon as I walked in. There was nothing upscale. Yes sure I did see ONE bottle of whiskey which was less than half, no water bottles. There was a tv on the wall playing some children show when there was no kids around. Tv was oldest model of LCD and probably 20 inches or so. There were couple of chairs for people waiting. You would expect to see some hair style/products related material such as magazines or hair style books. But unfortunately nothing all. My hair stylist did offer me something to drink but I said No. I was expecting my hair stylist to discuss with me what I would like. But again nothing. I asked her about hair style books so I can show her what I would like. But I was told that they don’t have any hair style Books. So I asked then how do you style your clients hair ? She replied that client describe what they want and we go from there. I was like what ? Seriously no hair style book ? Luckily I had taken a picture of hair style from their website that I liked. I showed her the picture and I was told that she can’t do this exact style but she will try to come close to it. So if their stylish don’t know the hair style that they have advertised on their website then why even advertised such style that they can’t offer ?? Yes sadly she did not do anything like what I showed her. I was so disappointed. I was very upset but calm myself as I didn’t want to create a scene there. So my experience is so freaking disappointing. I was very well aware of their charges and I had no problem with it that’s why I went there. I expected great style and great service. But their service did not match their price. There is nothing great about this salon. It’s a regular salon with tall mirrors, regular lighting. Yes I give them for offering whiskey and having sofs style chairs for client. That’s about it. Oh yes no product offering for Clients like you would expect from upscale salons. They are charging $75 just because it’s close to Central Park/Columbus circle Not for...
Read moreThis review is for Tanell - when I first started going to Fleischman I was super scared about getting a haircut other than my little old barber shop near my house. My girlfriend basically told me straight up that it was time for a change and that if I was nervous (which I DEFINITELY was) - I should do research and find a good salon. After a quick search for a good men's salon - I choose Fleischman. I saw Erica a few times who was absolutely fantastic in every way but when she took maternity leave - I had to make what I thought at the time, was an extremely difficult decision. It turned out to be the best decision ever - I chose Tanell. Since that time a few years ago, Tanell has been my primary stylist. I wish I could put into words just how much she has changed my life. I know, I know - it's just a haircut, right? WRONG. It was so much more than that. It gave me the freedom to not be embarrassed of my hair which has always been an insecurity of mine. If anyone is on the fence about which stylist to choose here, I personally guarantee you can't go wrong with Tanell. She will work with you to give you the absolute best haircut you'll ever get - and I can also personally guarantee you won't be bored and feel awkward either! She's a sweetheart and a blast to talk to. I'll be seeing her probably next week again and I can't wait. Bottom line - I really can't say enough good things about Fleischman's and Tanell. She's a gem and my go-to for my styling needs for the...
Read moreI started getting cuts with Erica at Fleischman's salon earlier this year and I couldn't be more pleased and impressed. If you're a professional man in NYC looking for a five star haircut and overall excellent experience Fleischman's is the place for you. Erica is amazing. She's experienced, talented, courteous and clearly has a passion for what she does. The staff (from reception to hair washing) are incredibly friendly and professional and take the time to make every minute pleasant. You might pay a few bucks less at other salons in the area but the quality of the cut here makes it a great value for your money. With other lower quality cuts I've needed to have much more frequent appointments to keep the same sharp and clean professional style. With Erica I can wait weeks longer between appointments. Erica really takes the time to get to know your hair, its individual quirks and proclivities, and how to give you a personalized perfect cut and style. She really took the time to help me understand my hair, what works for me, what products I need (and more importantly what I don't need) and how to best use them. She really loves what she does and it shows. She's also super friendly, funny and sharp. I could go on about the polished space, good scotch (or espresso) comfortable chairs, easy scheduling and excellent reception staff but, let's be honest: you come for the cut. If you're looking for the best men's haircut in NYC this is the place for...
