My wife and I are regular clients of the Loro Piana Madison Avenue flagship and I would rate it as one of the best run and managed luxury apparel stores in NYC.
From the first time we entered the store, the management and staff of Loro Piana’s Madison Avenue flagship were very welcoming and treated us with warmth and gave us considerable personal attention and care. They have been extremely effective and proactive at finding us the items we wanted and have been very honest in terms of telling us what works and what doesn’t both in the search process and when we try clothes on.
At the store, we have not experienced the very annoying and unhelpful tendency that you get with some retail sales professionals of telling you that everything looks great on you when it doesn’t. They tell you the truth and actively help you find the best clothing that works for you.
We also shop and buy clothes from Loro Piana’s competitors on Madison Avenue but the thing that sets the Loro Piana Madison Avenue flagship apart is the high level of customer service and attention as well as the highly organized manner in which the store runs.
The store is a well-oiled machine. Everyone knows their jobs and works really well together and from a client perspective the operation looks seamless.
The staff also seems to get along well with one another other more than I have seen in their competitors. There appears to be more genuine friendships among staff and it makes the store a happier and more pleasant environment in which to shop. And even the store employees who do not work directly with us know who we are and always greet us and talk with us. This atmosphere sets the store apart from some of the more internally competitive luxury retail stores in which I have shopped.
As far as the clothes and other items themselves I need not review those for long as LP is well known for what it sells - some of best fabrics in the quiet luxury end of ultra luxury retail. Styles are on the more conservative end of things and quality is excellent. Materials are among the best we have found.
Prices are, of course, very high although usually not quite as high as Brunello Cucinelli or Hermès for similar items. But I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and the clothing I have purchased from Loro Piana’s Madison Avenue flagship is of very high quality - especially the fabrics and materials. Same with the stitching.
I would highly recommend the management and staff who have worked directly with us as some of the best in luxury retail - the Assistant Store Director Rasheied, Client Advisor Angella and Personal SA Monica. They are outstanding and a pleasure to work with.
I did read a few reviews here complaining of less friendly service but we have had the polar opposite experience there. We are quite familiar with arrogant and haughty service in the NYC luxury scene - one boutique of a top Swiss watch brand immediately come to mind - and I would readily call the store out here if I experienced a whiff of that. I haven’t.
The strong management and kind staff at the Loro Piana Madison Avenue flagship has treated us in a manner far beyond my expectations and I really enjoy being a client of the store. I give the store my highest recommendation...
Read moreI had been a loyal Loro Piana client for 20 years. I dealt with a lovely lady at the Short Hills store . I spent 100k+ which is very easy to do there. They closed that store and I was forced to go to the NYC store on Madison ave. I had gone in a few months ago to get some older sorts and jackets tailored because I lost some weight. I was told they will not touch anything over 2 years. I wasn’t looking for a freebie . I was looking for the same professional tailoring that tailored it the first time . The manager, a blonde lady with short hair couldn’t have been more rude! I left and called corporate. They didn’t care either . Today I went in with a leather jacket that I bought 3 years ago. The bottom of the back wasn’t laying right. The same loser manager said can’t help you .i was talking to her when some people walked in and she promptly walked away and smiled at them and left me. Such a stuck up attitude . Before I left I let everyone in the store know how I felt . They are basically saying we don’t stand by a 10k dollar coat after 2 years. Like Andy Cohen show … wAtch what happens...

A few days ago, I bought a product from the store, when I walked out, I needed to talk with the salesman so I called the store, someone answered the phone, he left the phone looking for the guy and came back very shortly telling me that the guy was not there and asked if I needed him to call back, I said that I just met the salesman a few minutes ago..The guy on the phone stopped me and said : "Do you want me to call you back or not", very rudely and impatiently. So I decided to come back to the store, and as soon as I entered I saw the salesman was just there!
I doubted if the guy who answered the phone did really look for him or was offhand with me.
Good products but really...
