Ladies and Gentlemen, I received a haircut from this place today and I had such an amazing experience that I've got to share, very eloquently, every single detail that I can remember with whoever is reading this review. To start things off, it's located on 57th street and 10th Ave. Taking that into consideration, you would think that driving there at 4:30 in the afternoon could be a terrible idea, but I gave it a try(For people who don't take the train, this part of my story doesn't apply to you). As elated as I was after dealing with traffic, I instantly found parking as soon as I got across the street from the barber(which is a great feeling in Manhattan, finding parking). Then, I paid for the meter, walked over to the door, and noticed a couple of things as soon as I entered the establishment. The design was impeccable. From the brick walls to the hardwood floors, this place was pleasing to the eye. I was greeted by two, very professional individuals. One of whom really caught my attention(the one who gave me a haircut). His name was Jay. I've never received a haircut from someone who performs his job with such vehemence. From his posture, to the way he maneuvers, to the way he took care of his equipment, I knew that this individual enjoyed his workplace(great thanks to the owner or manager of this place). Inevitably, every aspect of his milieu contributed to his work ethic and at the same time contributed to my experience. It was an awesome environment; The music was really chill. We had an interesting, intellectual conversation, which is key to any barbershop. Jay gave me an haircut experience that I would pay double the amount that I did just to receive it again. Astonishing. So, to get back to the review: I'd recommend this barber to every guy out there that simply needs to get the style he wants, in a simple, orderly, and efficient fashion. Thank you Jay!!!! I'll be seeing him and his co-worker next week to get another fresh cut! 5 stars without a doubt, very high class and also...
Read moreExtremely Rude , definitely don't want someone so rude touching your hair or head. I rarely give a bad review and we are all clients here . If a service smile is too much to expect that's fine but a bad attitude ruins your day. I didnt wait for a hair cut i just walked out . This place was highly recommend by a friend . Very dissapointing . Don't want to spoil my day and my hair and take a chance. It's one of those places and attitudes that give a bad name to an otherwise amazing NYC or Gotham . They should change their name . I wrote my name down for a cut , asked the lady if I could drop my laundry across and come back , she said I have 10 mins. Probably I missed my turn as the cuts before me finished earlier. I understand that I have to get back in line and that's fair but what I don't understand is that why do I have to be given a very very Rude warning and that " I should not do it ever again " thats Rude and mean and I got taken aback. You are not my mom . you have a line up of customers it's not that you lost any business or I asked to cut the line again. Serious business does not give anyone the licence to be rude and rather than apologizing this attitude is being justified. Why would anyone want to come back to such a place. If you have rules then it's best to paste them outside .. and it should say if you miss your turn or miss hearing your name then we will be rude as one of the rules - even if you inform us that you are stepping out. Seriously !!! Seriously rude place ! I agree. They still don't get it. What's the big deal and it's not a crime if someone missed their turn they are paying for it by going back in line and that's fine. But why be rude ?? I don't get it how is...
Read moreIf you're looking for a top-notch haircut or shave in Hell’s Kitchen, look no further than Gotham Barbershop. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff and a classic, old-school atmosphere.
The barbers themselves are all highly skilled and knowledgeable, and they take the time to consult with you on exactly what you want before they start cutting. They're also happy to make suggestions if you're not quite sure what you're looking for. And best of all, they're great conversationalists - you'll never feel bored or awkward while you're in their chair.
As for the haircuts themselves, I can't say enough good things. They're precise, flattering, and always exactly what I asked for. And the shaves are an absolute dream - hot towels, straight razors, and all the trimmings. I always leave feeling like a new person.
Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of service you're getting. And with its prime location in Hell’s Kitchen, it's easy to stop by for a quick trim on your way to work or a night out on the town.
Overall, I highly recommend this barbershop to anyone in need of a great haircut or shave. It's a true gem in the heart of...
