The owner apparently is nice to some, but certainly not all. My wife and I have placed my son in Kids at Art several times over the years during school break. Each time we go there, Wendy never remembers us at all. Huge red flag! Today when I took my son for spring break recess- we've arrived late, because after all, it's for camp, so the pressure of having to get to places exactly on time is somewhat alleviated. Well, we arrived while camp was underway to have a young lady- name I do not recall, open the door after ringing the buzzer. The owner Wendy came charging the door screaming, "NO, NO, NO" while flailing her arms. My son was in shock, and so was I. She insisted that we did not belong in her business. After confirming that we paid to have our son attend the art camp, she never applogized! I mentioned that her behavior was rude, and unprofessional, and by no means should she greet participants or prospects with such disregard. At this point, I'm trapped because I have to get to work, so withdrawing my son was not an option. However, I cancelled all future reservations. It begs to wonder if Wendy treats everyone with such blatant disrespect and indignity, or is this reserved for particular individuals. I believe the latter. This woman is very rude, disrespectful, and condescending at best. But i tend to think the way she reacted toward me and my son has to do with how little she values certain people's business. If this is her behavior while I'm present, I could only imagine the damage she can cause to my son when I am not around. Therefore, I would not entrust her with my child's well...
Read moreMy daughter has been taking the Saturday art class at Kids at Art since January. She absolutely loves it! She comes home every Saturday so excited about what she is working on. The projects are complex and meaningful. I can see her confidence building in her ability to create and I know that there is a lot of care being taken to create a safe space for her to take risks. I have noticed that since she has been taking her class at Kids at Art she is not as concerned about making mistakes as she used to be, she does not get as frustrated and is able to find a way to solve her own problems while creating....and it is starting to transfer to other things to! I am so happy we are taking this class and can't wait to return for the...
Read moreI usually host my kids birthday parties at home. This year I thought I would try something new and have a party somewhere the kids could actually have another activity and enjoy themselves. Kids at Art was not a great choice for my kids. We selected the Art party. They put out some crayons, for the kids to draw and the umbrella project was just markers and white umbrellas (the colors washed off on the first use in the rain). The staff just stood around, not really sure what to do with the kids. I felt so sad and scammed. I had much higher expectations given they have 5 stars. The art classes might be better than the birthday parties. Before you book them for parties, make sure you understand what “entertainment” there...
