We recently visited a restaurant and decided to dine in for what we hoped would be an enjoyable meal. However, our experience was marred by poor service and a frustrating incident involving the use of the bathroom. This seemingly minor issue ended up overshadowing the entire visit and left us feeling dissatisfied and unwelcome.
After ordering our food and settling in to eat, one of us needed to use the restroom. This is a basic expectation at any dine-in establishment, especially one that serves food and drink. When we approached the waitress to ask for the bathroom code, her response was baffling. She claimed she did not know the password. This seemed strange, as staff members typically have access to such information for the convenience of their customers. It raised immediate red flags about the professionalism and preparedness of the staff. Why wouldn’t a waitress, who interacts with customers all day, know such basic information?
Confused but determined to resolve the issue, we approached the cashier next. This is where the situation escalated from inconvenient to outright frustrating. The cashier told us that the bathroom was for employees only. This statement contradicted the initial response from the waitress and made us question the restaurant’s policies. If the bathroom is truly off-limits to customers, why not communicate that clearly upfront? Why allow patrons to dine in without informing them that they won’t have access to basic facilities? It felt like an intentional disregard for customer comfort and needs.
The lack of clarity and the dismissive attitude from both the waitress and cashier demonstrated poor communication and a lack of care for the people patronizing the establishment. It’s reasonable to expect that a restaurant with dine-in services would have facilities available for customers or, at the very least, an alternative solution. The contradictory statements from the staff only added to our frustration. We were left wondering whether the bathroom was actually unavailable or if they simply didn’t want to accommodate us.
This experience highlights the importance of consistent policies and proper training for restaurant staff. A simple situation like this should not have escalated into a negative experience. If the bathroom is genuinely off-limits to customers, the restaurant should make this clear through signage or verbal communication upon entry. Alternatively, if there is a password-protected bathroom for customers, the staff should be equipped to provide the necessary assistance promptly.
The poor handling of this issue reflects a lack of attention to customer service. Restaurants rely on their patrons for business, and ensuring a positive experience should be a top priority. Unfortunately, this establishment failed in that regard. The indifferent attitude from the staff and the lack of basic amenities like restroom access made us feel undervalued and unwelcome.
We left the restaurant feeling disappointed, not just by the bathroom situation but by the overall lack of professionalism and care. It’s unlikely we’ll return to this establishment, and we wouldn’t recommend it to others based on this experience. Good service is the cornerstone of any successful restaurant, and this one fell far short of...
Read moreI had a negative experience shopping here. I purchased two bags of tofu puffs. Upon checkout, literally as soon as I finished my transaction, while preparing to pack my items, I realized that the tofu had fuzzy pink mold on it. I told the cashier that there was mold on the tofu and that I would be right back as I would like to replace the spoiled items with fresh ones. Since the store was not crowded and no other patrons were waiting, I stepped away to get the replacements. Since this literally happened upon having my credit card already charged, the cashier did not give me a receipt as it was understood that I would be right back after getting fresh tofu from the cold case a few steps away. While at the cold case, a young male attendant (who was actually the only friendly and helpful staff member in my experience there), tried to help me find un-moldy tofu, but all the tofu puffs had pink mold.
Upon going back to the register, the cashier who checked me out had left. So the helpful male attendant proceeded to try to give me a refund but had to call the manager as the prior cashier had not printed out a receipt. The manager, an older woman, then proceeded to "lightly" scold me about not having a receipt - and acted as if it was difficult to give me a return and insinuated that I did something wrong, by not having a receipt, and trying to get my money back for the moldy tofu. All of this happened in light of my not even leaving the store or stepping more than 18ft away from the cash register after having realized the tofu had mold.
There were other "subtleties" of disrespect from the manager, and the initial cashier, which made me feel unwelcome in the store. You can read the other reviews for what these "subtitles" might be as I do not want to detract from the objective facts of my experience of poor customer service and being sold moldy, unsafe potentially fatal food. Also others have commented about also seeing/purchasing moldy tofu in the store, so I'd advise purchasing your tofu elsewhere and also shopping elsewhere for better universal...
Read moreWent here half hour ago to buy some pears. When I checked out, I tried to pay with a credit card four times but failed. After I tried many times, the lady at the front desk told me that "debit cards are required for purchases less than 10 bucks." I couldn't hear her because she spoke in a low voice, so I tried again. Then she said in a very rude tone, "I told you before that debit card only!" I said “sorry I didn't bring cash, do you accept Zelle or Venmo?” She ignored me. Because there were people behind me waiting to pay, so I stepped out and told her that I would bring cash in 2 minutes. I went back after 2 minutes later and she saw me standing at the cashier area. She said, "You have to go get your pears again, I put them back." Then I said, "I told you I would come back." She said, "well, I saw you go out so I put them back, you need to go get them again." "I saw you talk to the people in the coffee shop and then went out, so I don't think you will go back to get cash." I was really upset but finally, I grabbed it by myself, but for the attitude of this old lady, I have to give this super market one star. Regardless of whether this review is useful or not, I just want to say that for the attitude and unprofessionalism given by the cashier, I will tell my friends and family not to come here anymore. The staff here...
