KPOP NARA NYC — Local services in New York

Honestly had such a disappointing time today at KPOP Nara. Day 1 of the Ateez LD and it was an absolute mess. Not only did KPOP Nara allow overnight camping - but they also turned a blind eye to cutting. There was a group who held spots for 20+ people and the second they got in, 700 albums down. You’d move max 5 steps every 20 minutes because they’d let such little people in at once and let those people stay in there for so long to trade, KNOWING there’s a long line outside. The lucky draws sold out within 3 hours of opening which is crazy since the event is 10am -7pm daily. They let people walk out and reenter the line with their friend who was also near the front of the line to purchase over the limit as well. People who got there 2 hours before opening had to walk away empty handed. There was a kind coworker with green hair who walked down the line to let us know there was low stock and that they’d lower the limit from 32 but shortly after it sold out anyways. Makestar and Kpopnara were definitely not prepared for this and this was the worst experience I could’ve imagined. I’ve heard that the limit will be lower for other dates but I honestly wished they would’ve assessed the situation and saw the 300+ people in line and lowered it from the very start instead of wasting peoples times. There were less than 100 people who got albums day 1 due to the crazy limits and cutting. I came to this store a few times before making my first purchase. I loved that they were open to help but also let me look around and ‘window shop’ lol. Finally, a few days ago I decided to stop by to originally look around with my daughter and nieces and the Stray Kids light stick was there…. How could I not? I’ve been searching everywhere for it and finally found it. I love how they make sure it works before purchasing. Upon taking it home (long story short - my batteries didn’t work) so I came back into the store for help. Prior to coming to the store, I reached out on IG and they are pretty active, I love that! When coming back to the store, they’ve tried many different ways to conclude that it’s in fact my batteries but wanted to make sure I didn’t leave with no solution and made sure of that. They are very active on social media, I wished to have found them sooner but now I cannot wait to see more SKZ merch come in. Once I have my wishlist of skz, I’ll start a new collection. Now I know where to go 😂

I haven’t been here without a rude experience from an employee. I wanted a member specific Aespa album, but was unsure which was which and I asked an employee and they replied with an eye roll and “i don’t listen to girl groups.” I don’t expect the employees to be kpop encyclopedias, but the comment was rude and unnecessary. My friend who knows nothing about kpop came in to get me a shinee album and when she asked about it, an employee replied unhelpfully “they’re a really old group” and make her feel so uncomfortable, she immediately left.
