Manhattan Mini Storage — Local services in New York

Hey, just reaching out on google review to give professional, personal and digital respect and reflection to the Manhattan Mini storage location and their staff, that operate on South Street in the lower lower east side / two bridges area, of manhattan.

The managers at that location, that being Tommy, Tom and especially Devon, including the overall general staff located at that mini storage, have been really helpful in all aspects, at all times.

A few days ago, Devon, the Property Manager kindly helped me quickly solve some gray area issues, in such a professional and balanced manner, that in addition makes sense on how it’s humanly possible to have such great, professional and kind employees at that location (and from my experience in general), while taking care of their customers and the purpose of the company, at the same time. Thank you Devon. Hope you’re having a good day.

Then, in addition this evening, I had some minimal outside rental policy questions, in terms of shifting rental unit size, so I called Manhattan Mini Storage corporate / Customer Service, and I was transferred to, Donnovan. When speaking to him over the phone for the course of about 30 or 40 minutes, He had presented to me all aspects of positive options, aptitude, and advice on his abilities, estimates and suggestions - and what he and I could do for as a team to navigate quotes and solutions, for a potential adjustment to the size of my current rental unit, and or just the simplicity of the questions I presented - in addition especially the staff, and including the Management, especially Donnovan and Devon, in general, who both have represented this company in such a wonderful way - I couldn’t suggest anything better. And if I’m comparing, Manhattan Mini storage to Apple Inc., that is kinda like being compared to A famous sports team that is reflected on still to this day.

To put this Long explanation, simple, The consistency of the balance of the staff and the helpfulness thereof, is remarkable.

In a direct way to the company, I hope that Corporate holds onto their employees as soon as possible, because from my perspective at some point as they grow with their own careers, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these people represent professionally at companies like Apple, Nike, T-Mobile in a similar corporate position as the people who hired them here in the first place.

Btw, I rented a small unit at the same Mini storage address in lower Manhattan around 2005 for about a year, And when speaking to Donnovan, this evening, for about 40 minutes, it was a huge example of the personalization, and healthy/professional representation Of what is soon to be, I’d imagine, a very positive national company in the US, especially considering their employees - Give it up to the staff and representation of the company in general, which is an also local example similar to just getting a slice of pizza at Scarrs, because I know On a personal level that he was one of your tenants, at sometime, if...

This complaint goes to management. My privacy was invaded and personal property destroyed with no notice. In September 2023, I made arrangements to move my items to a slightly smaller unit and this worked out well. It was a smooth transaction. Seven weeks later, I return to place things in storage only to be shocked that my storage unit is no longer there. Mind you, I went to the front desk first to confirm my access code and was not prepared for what I was to discover. Manhattan Mini Storage broke my personal pad lock, threw it away, had my personal belongings moved to another smaller unit and did not attempt to contact me or obtain my consent to do what they did. The handling of my personal property was poorly managed. A box I had marked as fragile had items on top. A leather headboard had the bed metal frame leaning against it and left a deep indentation. I complained to the assistant manager who said customers were contacted, which is not true. I was not contacted. There was no email, call, or postings. I expect courtesy as a paying customer that I be given proper notice and the option to move my own items or decide what to do with my things during their renovations. If they had informed me in September that the area I was in was going to be renovated and my items would need to be relocated, I would have selected a different unit. Manhattan Mini Storage didn’t do right. This was poorly managed. There was no attempt to communicate with me before, during, or after the fact. I was in shock when I couldn’t find my storage unit. Shocked by such an invasion of privacy and handling of my personal belongings. They could have handled this differently and with tact. They could have sent an email, called, posted notices in the building and on each floor to alert customers who may be impacted by the planned renovations. Absolutely awesome customer service, I just came fresh on my 1st call for information & details needed, to get everything started & from the moment I was connected, I was very blessed to begin this process with a very gracious employee by the name of Timothy, he was very warm & welcoming & extremely kind from the second he introduced himself & made it a very comfortable & easy call. Tim was incredibly patient with me, & very kindly answered every question I could think of, the prices & deals are better than most other storages that I came across & I'm very pleased with the fact, that here, my budget fits well, the customer service so far is on point, with a very positive vibe, I very much look foward to continue forth with their services here at south st mini Manhattan storage. The lower east side has always been my home to begin with, and I'm glad to know, and to find, that these kind of places & businesses in our neighborhood still have individuals like tim, who are very humble, professional & generously courteous employees, who are genuinely helpful & make these processes alot easier.
