Next level is THE spot for a local tourney scene and the fighters here are no joke. They are strong. But I can't really call this place an arcade, it's more of a dojo. A place to gather knowledge on specific games (mostly sf5) to become better as a tourney player. Nothing wrong with that, but I only wish that as an arcade, they have a variety time to time. It really goes back to a nostalgia feel. As a kid, there are so many choices in an arcade. Something fun and new to try. It wasn't always about esports or evo. I Fix Machine captured just that. But sadly it is closed. Next Level does have arcade cabinets at the basement, but it's only for third strike...so that's a bummer. That's all i gotta say. its a fun place. cool people. strong fighters. Just wish it had different strokes for...
Read morethe second i swung the door open i was hit with a vicious smell of body odor that would be more inline with a homeless shelter then an arcade. i tried to get a session of super turbo(on an actual cab, i can play on console at home) but for whatever reason the basement cabs are dead locked on 3rd strike(basement was empty nobody using them). the upstairs machine that allegedly had super turbo on it(machine was off) was being used as a kitchen table with all sorts of food and junk all over it. to be fair the owner wasnt in(the guy there was unaccommodating) but something tells me it wouldnt have made a difference.
i walked out salty that the superior arcade with actual cabs(i fix machine arcade) closed. my advice is to just invest more into your home set up, your not missing...
Read moreAn amazing place and venue for fighting games. I visited on the NLBC tournament after the Christmas holiday. I met some FGC veterans that I previously only saw on stream and spoke to online. If you’re a fighting game fan, this place is necessary to visit at least once. I consider it historical. I played casual games of dbfz and watched the tournaments, staying until they closed. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. When I went, they had free pizza, and that was touching to see because it is clear the staff care about their playerbase and try to serve their needs. You won’t regret visiting here. It was the highlight of my last trip to...
