So I had to Delete my Initial review of this Amazing Gym as I was a fairly new member, but now after a few months at the Gym I think my review should be a proper updated, version of what my true experience at power house Gym is like
I would first like to acknowledge it was hard for me to get back into the gym post covid and as a busy 911 EMT my schedule and Diet went to out the window, as with everyoneās regular programming pre covid. When I joins power house gym I weighed in at 210lbs, my first month or so I wasnāt as motivated or serious about my workout, but consistency is key and a proper diet, I now weigh 190lbs, which is a huge achievement for me
Any for anyone starting out the hardest part about fitness and getting fit, is finding the motivation to Go to the Gym, the Owner Debbie and staff were amazing at this, friendly and courteous. They would always greet you with a smile or some Sort of encouragement every time you showed up to the gym, itās not the biggest Gym out there but it felt big enough to me, and the community of gym members are so helpful, conversational and friendly.
Debbie the Owner was most helpful in my weight loss journey, sheās an inspiration, a hands on owner, always there cleaning and organizing the gym, listening to complaints and helping customers out, she would recommend diet tips and tricks, workout methods and ideas. Sheās even a great listener for when you arenāt motivated to workout, she would always know if I missed a day or a few days of my workout routine, she really does go above and beyond for her Gym members.
The Gym has a variety of Equipment for your workout routine, itās rarely over crowded yet a decent amount of equipment for a decent amount of members as well, the gym is always clean, weights and equipment are well maintained and always organized, not only thanks to the owner and staff but the gym members are decent responsible adults who also clean up after themselves and re rack the weights after use.
The Gym and itās community of members, are diverse, judgment free environment and overall a welcoming atmosphere and experience, this Gym does make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI weighed 290 pounds and could barely squat a naked barbell when I joined Powerhouse a little over a year ago. Forty-three years of sedentary living had brought me to such a lowly point. Today, however, I can squat over 250 pounds and my weight is down to 240. Those aren't elite numbers to be sure, but I'm certainly trending in the right direction. It's Powerhouse and the relationships I've developed there that have placed me on a sustainable path towards health living.
Powerhouse has all the gym equipment you need for your fitness journey: squat racks, plenty of plates, lots of dumbbells, various weighted machines and, of course, cardio equipment. Every gym has equipment though. What makes Powerhouse such a pleasant and helpful place, though, is the community. The members and the staff are all excellent.
I knew nothing about lifting form and even less about nutrition when I joined Powerhouse. Today I'd say I know as much about those topics as it's possible for an amateur to know. I gained this knowledge through conversation with members and staff, all of whom are not only friendly and open but also knowledgeable. Honestly, attending Powerhouse has been like matriculating at a fitness college. I've not only learned a great deal but I've also cultivated friendships that I'll take with me well into the future.
My fitness goals are to get down to roughly 200 pounds in body weight, up to a 300 pound squat, and improve my cardio fitness. With Powerhouse equipment and, more importantly, Powerhouse staff and members, I'm confident I can get there.
If you have fitness goals you should stop by and workout with us. You'll enjoy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo first the good- itās a nice gym and most of the staff were friendly when I was going there. Then, COVID hit and they didnāt bill during that period, which was good.
Now the bad- I called several times since they reopened to let them know I donāt feel comfortable coming in because I see elderly people and have little outside contact right now. I was told my membership would be cancelled twice by one of the women at the front desk, and once that I would get a call back to confirm. That never happened. Instead, my ābillsā were sent to a collections firm which is impossible to deal with. I have records of my conversation with my financial institution of when I informed them I had cancelled my membership, phone records which show my contact with Powerhouse, and the next step is to send certified mail to ABC and Powerhouse to validate my debt and reaffirm that I cancel my membership. For anyone dealing with the same chicanery, I urge you to send a certified letter doing the same, ask ABC to stop contacting you, keep good records, and call a lawyer after googling ABC financial scam. Donāt let poor business practices destroy your hard earned credit. Find a gym thatās reasonable and good for your health, not causing my undue stress to get out of their grips.
Well, you were a good gym marred by dirty business practices. Can only hope you reap...
