A beautiful space with disappointing coffee and pastries

I really wanted to love this place. The vibe is great—cozy, inviting, and full of potential. The owner and staff are friendly, and I appreciate the warmth of the atmosphere. It's the kind of coffee shop you want to root for.

But unfortunately, the quality of the coffee and baked goods just didn't live up to the charm of the space. I ordered a double espresso hoping for a bold, rich flavor, but it was weak and barely tasted like coffee. My friend felt the same.

The pastries looked absolutely delicious in the display case, but that promise didn't carry through in the taste. The apple turnover had no apples inside—just a puff of empty pastry. The cinnamon raisin Danish was dry and bland, without any depth of flavor. It felt like a complete waste of calories, which is a shame at this price point.

To top it off, service was surprisingly slow. There were only a few people in the shop when we arrived, but it still took quite a while to get our order.

I truly wish the food and drinks matched the heart and vibe of the place. I’d love to come back if the quality improves, because everything else about this shop...

Had really high hopes for this place. Ordered two flavored lattes with oat milk through an online order and was given an etc of 9:45am. Arrived a few minutes early but didn’t receive our order until 10:05am. I would be fine if it was just due to them being busy but they were helping people that walked in after us and just stood in line before getting to our order. If you don’t have a system in place for online orders then you shouldn’t be offering it as a service. This wasn’t even the worst part. After getting our two lattes we found out they were plain lattes without any added syrups and used whole milk instead of oat milk (not cool considering my wife is lactose intolerant). Not even close to what we asked for and we would have returned them to get the correct order but by the time we realized they weren’t what we asked for, we were already running late for an appointment. Only reason I’m giving two stars is because the vibe of the place seemed nice.

Edit: Very nice of them to reach out to us. I get that lift happens and mistakes are made, but it means a lot when they try to rectify...

I was visiting NYC and this place was nearby. Went to get my coffee two days in a row. First day was great. The Asian gentleman making the coffee knows how to keep things moving. Took my order, made my iced latte. Excellent and just how I asked. Next day, the Asian gentleman was bz making all the coffees so another Hispanic gentleman comes to help at the register, he takes my order but couldn't find the button for simple syrup. As he's looking, the lady behind comes up to him and just rushes him to push maple syrup instead. Fine. She says she'll tell the guy making the coffee. Never does and when I pick my coffee up and ask if they put simple syrup instead of maple she doesn't say a word and acts like it's fine and goes to the guy making the coffee, it's ok let her try it, maybe she'll like it. No apology, nothing. Earlier this same lady was rushing and broke a plate. I ended up leaving with my drink because I had a flight to catch but my advice to this lady please own up to your mistake and slow down. You're not helping the situation by...
