RUSSIAN MANICURE ZORI NAILS — Local services in New York

I came here for the first time after seeing great reviews. I have been getting Russian manicures for 6 years and am very picky about who I allow to do my nails - the technician I had here ruined my nails.

I’m not sure what the name of technician was, she was blonde and never said her name or asked me mine. My nails came out no where near expected or the quality seen in the reviews and photos.

First, I arrived on time and she was running about 20-30 minutes late so I sat there and waited. She then tried to push me into doing the beige color of the strong gel, instead of the brown color I wanted over it because she was trying to rush the appointment when it wasn’t even over yet. She removed all of my previous strong gel instead of filling it in and used some other gel she said was “strong gel” but I have never seen it before nor does it feel like strong gel on my nails. She shaved my nails down much much shorter than I told her to, basically shortening them completely to where my finger is. I did not ask for that because I don’t cut my nails that short and she just kept filing away. She asked me to change the color multiple times and I said no because I knew what I wanted, there was still time left in my appointment and I am a paying customer. It came off as very lazy and just wanting to take a break. I paid for strong gel and this polish has cracked so quickly, the strong gel isn’t strong, it feels like it’s not properly on my nail and the brown polish is see through because she didn’t do enough coats. It seemed as if she didn’t have much experience. I expected much better for the price and reviews.

Just out of my first appointment here. Came in 16 minutes late which was totally my fault.apologized and was informed that my original request for French tip extensions couldn’t be completed with a luck of time. Which I was ok with. Was offered to choose from only nude pink colos. Asked if it’s a single color could I do dark red than. She told me it wasn’t enough time for that which I’s wild as we still had at least 1h and 40 min to complete the job. And Said ok let’s do pink I’ll add French elsewhere. Than as for the length /shape I was clear that I wanted them same coffin shape and shorter to the length they grew out(medium /long) than somehow she assumed I wanted my nails short which I realized when 3 of them got chopped off. She said I should off stopped her earlier and now it’s no time to do extensions. I couldn’t see with how my hands were positioned. And now she couldn’t make my nails more narrow as they were short for that. So I end up with short flat wide nails that look like shovels and isn’t my personal preference and need to get these redone. Paid 150$+ 20$ tip for that but main concern waist of time and passive aggressive vibes. I’m a polite and laid back and a generous tipper 30% + with a good service. Not in this situation.
