Words cannot express how truly grateful I am to have taken Matts Scalp Micro USA course. I am currently a permanent makeup artist along with a licensed aesthetician and I have never felt more comfortable in my field than I have after taking this class. If you are new, have any doubts or concerns, experienced, or just looking for a totally rewarding career change, just make the jump and sign up.
Matt is not only an expert in his craft but he is truly gifted at conveying information to students in a way that is remarkable and unlike anything I have experienced, including professors from my university. The reality is that anyone can teach- but not everyone can profess subject matter in a way that really makes people want to learn. He makes you develop a respect and admiration for scalp micropigmentation and helping others that you would never know was possible. Matts class was organized, efficient, informative, pleasurable and thorough. For four days I would go to sleep early only to wake up excited for the following day and the new things we would be learning. Time went by fast because the experience made me happy, eager and felt so worthwhile. I think it speaks volumes when everyone including the students, the models, the other artists and employees are all happy and easy to be around. It is so refreshing to be in an environment and surrounded by people that you can tell honestly love what they do.
As far as value is concerned, the course pays for itself just with the information you learn on the first day. I was able to build confidence and take in the knowledge that not even 7 months of beauty school offered or several months of permanent makeup training has given me. I am easily the annoying girl in the class who asks a million questions and interrupts nonstop. Not only did Matt welcome every single question but his expertise shined in his innate ability to alleviate and address every concern and question I could think of. It seemed almost as if it was his mission to make sure every student had the ability to properly and confidently perform scalp micropigmentation the moment they left his class. Matt isn’t just a phenomenal teacher, businessman, and artist but he truly cared about all of us succeeding and the value of THAT is immeasurable.
Last but not least, of course, I can’t leave this review without talking about how wonderful Jessica was. Not only an SMP artist but a tentative, intelligent and well rounded receptionist. Throughout the course Jessica made sure we were well fed and happy, took into consideration all of our dietary restrictions and was such a sweet and energetic person. All the students in the class liked her and she was never bothered by any of our requests. She helped make the class run seamlessly- what a great member to have on your team :) loved her!
As you can tell by now, I loved, appreciate and recommend this course to absolutely any and everyone. I will continue to take courses with them in the future and I have never felt more confident to start something new. Every single one of my future employees will be required to take this course before starting SMP in my business. I look forward to seeing everyone in the future and am so excited to be part of such a great...
Read moreTHE BEST IN THE COUNTRY!!! I don't say that lightly- I spent months researching Scalp Micropigmentation and all over the internet there was a general consensus that Matt Iulo and his team at Scalp Micro USA are the best in the country and are at the forefront of revolutionizing SMP. I do a lot of research before making any decision, especially one involving permanent cosmetic changes to myself and I could not find nothing but the highest praise for Matt and his team of Scalp Micropigmentation practitioners.
I emailed them and Tara was very responsive when I contacted Scalp Micro USA about a consultation and I sent them pictures and quickly received their recommendations. So I booked an appointment and bought a ticket to fly over 1000 miles from where I live to see Matt at Scalp Micro USA in NYC. There are countless Scalp Micropigmentation clinics way closer to me but I am the type that wants the best of everything- and Scalp Micro USA is it.
When I arrived Tara greeted me and got my info. Matt greeted me and analyzed my scalp and got his game plan together. They offered me beverages and provided a true concierge style service while Matt was getting everything ready to started. I was expecting the procedure to be very painful, just thinking of having a needle poked into my scalp hundreds of times made me cringe. I was quite surprised that it was just mildly uncomfortable at worst and nowhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be. Matt was super friendly and we had a great conversation during the treatment. When I was finished the results were great, their was some redness which was normal. The next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror I could not stop grinning. The results were fantastic even with just the first treatment. I scheduled my second treatment, flew back home and 2 weeks later was back in NYC for my second treatment. After my second treatment I was ecstatic. It turned out way better than I could have imagined. Matt is truly an artist and takes pride in his work like very few people do nowadays.
While I was there I got to meet a few of the other Scalp Micro USA practitioners and see some of their work with other clients and they have put together a team that is exceptional at what they do (and take pride in it too, as they should!).
The treatment has been life changing. I literally save an hour every day not having to try to make my thin hair look half decent and I no longer worry when the wind blows that my bald spots are showing or avoid standing under bright lights knowing it will make my thin hair look worse.
I had my treatments over a year ago and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON HAS NOTICED THAT IT IS NOT REAL. It looks so natural it fools me every day I look in the mirror. The only people that know are my fiancé and my barber (a friend of mine). He stares at scalps all day long and his mind was blown when he saw my head. He stared from every angle scratching his head in disbelief that my "hair" was not real. I literally can't say enough good things about Matt and the Scalp Micro USA team. They are THE best in the USA, hands down and Scalp Micropigmentation was worth every penny and more.
Thanks...
Read moreLike many, I shaved my head and didn’t feel like myself anymore. I hadn’t realized the importance of having a hairline even when shaving your head (it frames your face and brings back your eyes and a more youthful look) so extensive research led me to Matt , though you can’t go wrong with anyone there, they’re all great. He did a killer job and listened intently before each session, and incorporated my feedback beautifully. It was a true collaboration and he was patient and professional.
Here’s what to expect, or at least my experience:
-Consultation: bring pictures of SMP examples that you like. Your practitioner will draw on a basic hairline to show you roughly where your hairline will be. -First session - don’t expect much after your first session, it’s more of an outline that gets filled in with fuller density during the second session. It’s exciting at first, though can look a little fake since it’s very bold, but give it time and the ink will settle much much lighter. NOTE: Dont be concerned if pigment falls out or little dots fall off a week after. This is normal, albeit a little concerning, but like others have said in SMP forums patience is key and it could take a month for your look to fully settle. Count on an emotional roller coaster as your look can change drastically, though with that said I always felt comfortable wearing the look without a hat even after the first session. -Second session: this is where it starts to take shape. Density gets filled in and it starts to look fuller and better. I shed a ton after a week or so but then it calmed down. Again, it starts out bold and gets lighter. Don’t expect your look to settle fully until a few weeks. It could be a bit splotchy until then as the skin heals. -Third session: this was the most exciting session for me personally as the few tweaks to the hairline and further density filled in very nicely.
SMP isn’t the same as getting your hair back but it definitely beats totally bald. Give yourself time to acclimate to your new look. It’s been a couple months for me and I’m just starting to feel like myself, and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. No one has noticed and people will wonder why you shave your head, it seriously looks real. I’d recommend changing up your wardrobe as you may find some of your old clothes don’t fit your new look, but it’s a good look and definitely masculine and badass. Will you look the same as having hair? Probably not. Is it a good look that beats hair transplant surgery? Absolutely. Will it make you look younger and give you some years back from that Uncle receding hairline...
