It was a Sunday November 20 , 2016 in the afternoon hours. When I had my first real awesome Eating experience.
Decor- the restaurant was very lavished with flowers and Chandlers. Everything was uniform to perfection.
Atmosphere - it was lovely to great music playing by jazzanova - another day . Which is a perfect music for relaxation. To people having grray conversations about live. The restaurant smell like a fragrance of flowers and chocolates. It was an experience like none other. And the best part is that smiles filled the room
Food - I mostly ordered take out but as I was waiting for my takeout order I ordered a 24 layer crêpe cake and a chocolate martini which was amazing. I never tried a 24 layer crêpe cake but it's one of the things you must try once in a lifetime. Based on what I heard a layer crêpe cake is difficult to make. But the chefs made it happened. The cake was absolutely delicious from the crunchy top to the spongy texture and detail of each crêpe it was like a work of art displayed on a plate. Next was the chocolate martini which was very delightful trying. It has more chocolate then alcohol which was a plus. Also you a complimentary chocolate with your martini.
Take out
I ordered the ravioli which was very tasty in every bite. Very delicious and cheesy. It also have high quality Taste The truffle pizza was very good and also have different flavors that stands out.
My brother tried the chicken panini and he loved it. He said it's the best quality food ever tasted. He also tried the malt cake and he wanted another one. My brother sometimes could be hard to please when it comes to food but this place made him happy and exceed his expectations
Also the smoked salmon was delicious.
The presentation of the take out was nice and was not an ordinary take out. It was presented very well.
Customer service was very great and the staff was very attentive. They show care and make sure my experience was magical. They give me refills of water without me asking. Most importantly they work with a smile and very joyful.
Also the manager showed great passion and what she does. She check each customer to see if all their needs are met. She makes sure my experience was not disappointing.
To the chefs thank you for making this a great experience and cooking works of art. To the wait staff and waitress thank you for working with a smile and making sure each customer including myself welcomed
The the Manager. Thank you for being very caring and showing what a business should be. Thank you for managing a great staff and making the...
Read moreI had a terrible experience with racial discrimination at this bar recently. We made a reservation and arrived on time, but the server, a woman with long hair and bangs, told us there were no available seats and gave us an unwanted table. We were told that if we wanted to sit at the table we preferred, we could come back at a different time with a reservation. So we made a reservation for an hour later and waited. When we returned, the table we wanted was available and there were already two people sitting at each of the four other tables of the same size. We asked a male server if we could sit there since it was empty, explaining that we had a reservation for now. He said it was possible and that he would help us with seating in a moment. But soon the female server came back and told us that the table was for reservations only so we told her that we have another reservation for now and we waited for one hour. then she said two people couldn't sit there. Clearly, the previous guests who were sitting there before us were also a party of two and other tables of the same size had become available since then, but she still refused to give us a seat. We were both Asian and had not been rude to the server, so I wonder if there was any reason other than racial discrimination for her behavior. Additionally, when the server finally gave us a table we wanted to sit at, which was right next to the unwanted table she initially offered us, we moved to the table we preferred. However, when she came back, she put the glasses and water down with a loud thud and left without a word, wearing a very unpleasant expression on her face. When we complained to another staff member, they said the server might have been having a bad day and apologized. Should we have felt bad because the server was in a bad mood, especially when we were paying to have a good time? This was the worst experience of my life, and I will never recommend this place...
Read moreI've been to Ayza a couple of times over the last couple of years. On this particular visit we both ordered the five piece assorted platter. I had forgotten how generous the servings are per person. We should've shared the platter or ordered two three piece platters, as my friend who is a cheese fanatic couldn't even finish it. I tried the Shropshire blue, French brie, aged parmigiano reggiano, duck liver pate, and prosciutto di parma. I also had the mulled wine. Ayza makes my favorite mulled wine in the city. We somehow managed to save room for the chocolate fondue dessert, which was delicious! I loved the ambience and normally this is a great restaurant for a special occasion, date, or Valentine's Day.
The three star review isn't a reflection of the food, but of the service and the app that you have to use to order. We completely understand the need for safety during COVID and appreciate a restaurant that cares about keeping their staff safe. However, we found the app challenging to use. If you haven't been to Ayza then you might not be familiar with how ordering takes place. You click through items on the app that you would like to order. If there is something that you need during your meal (e.g. more water) you are supposed to message through the app. My friend tried sending a message through the app and it took almost 35 minutes before we received a response. My friend also had a little trouble trying to place the order for dessert, which also led to us spending more time at the restaurant than we would've liked. We tried to speak to several waiters who were walking by our table, but they basically refused to even have a quick conversation. Instead of using an app, I've seen another restaurant have table numbers placed on each table and when a guest would like to order something, you simple put your face mask back on and put the table number up so the waiter knows that the guests are ready to...
