While walking down a busy NYC street, I received a critically urgent medical phone call about my sick parent. I couldn't hear on the street, so I briefly stepped just inside the front of this salon to hear clearly. I stood quietly near the exit and listened to the doctors on the line. I wasn’t loud, I wasn’t blocking anything, I wasn't touching anything, and I wasn’t intending to stay long.
The woman working at the front (not sure if she's the owner) began loudly insisting I leave, even as I gestured repeatedly that it was a very serious call and I would step out very shortly. When she kept yelling even as I was walking out, I could barely hear the doctors, and I felt incredibly overwhelmed and under immense emotional stress, and I reacted poorly—I flipped her off as I walked out, which I regret.
But what followed was completely inappropriate: she began screaming at me, hurling insults while I was still on the call with the doctors, and then chased after me down the street and into another nearby business, continuing to yell loudly so that everyone could hear, entering and disrupting this other business, harassing me. I had to hide in the back just to finish the call and compose myself. It was humiliating and deeply disturbing.
I understand that businesses have boundaries. But there’s a way to enforce them with basic human decency and compassion. What happened here was over-the-top aggressive, inappropriate, and deeply upsetting during one of the most vulnerable...
Read moreRebecca got frustrated with me when I told her the overfiling was hurting me. Candy finished the job, though unorthodox, and did alright but my thumb nail paint just fell off and I got them done today. This is the WORST experience I have ever had getting my nails done.
I asked for gel nails with the small plastic tip on the end of my nail and they charged me for two services ($120 for my nails to be done). When I was with Rebecca I reinstated I wanted gel nails & she laughed at me and said to Candy “now she wants gel nails” mockingly and began to get frustrated with me. I asked why she was getting frustrated and then someone moved me to Candy. The nail job was not what I wanted because she basically gave me acrylic nails (mind you my nails were overfiled by Rebecca at this point) and I was charged for tips and gel (x2). My nails feel so damaged now and still not done with the...

Anyhoo Alex kept asking me if I was living in the area I mentioned my hair appointment then 2 min later she asked again,,,, hmmm is this a “only if you live in the area exclusive salon service” ? Ok so now the lashes are nice individual 130 per eye & $190I just pray they last 2 weeks. I NEVER go to places that I haven’t reviewed first. After i left I looked at some pics of other lashes that look fuller than mine go figure. The refill Alex says will be $80. I made an appointment for 2 weeks from now . At the end of the appointment Alex tells me there’s a mandatory 18% tax tip.. lol I like to tip for great services but the nyc law or news never said anything about 18% being mandatory she was pushy. These lashes better last ..I will update on...
