We had a wild ride here - 3 rooms in 4 nights due to a water leak. The first room we had was leaking from the ceiling onto the closet door and the bathroom smelled horribly moldy. We were moved to a much nicer room. We moved back into the original room on the second night because the leak was fixed. Well there turned out to be a second leak right onto the bed so we had to move the furniture around. The shower smelled even worse so we couldn't use it - we washed our hair in the kitchen sink. Third night we were given a smaller room, but this one smelled fine and we had no issues with it. The guy who monitors the office was really nice and tried to help us get a decent room, so I can't fault the service.

It feels like you're staying at a friends apartment in college - furniture is cheap, the towels are all mis-matched, the shampoo is a pump bottle shared by past guests (like a retail bottle sitting on the floor) and the soap is minuscule. I think the rooms need to be renovated, you can tell they were at one point, but the cabinets are starting to fall apart and the bathrooms needed to be regrouted/re-tiled. There was no AC even though it's listed as having it because they are window units installed in the summer - that should be made known in their listings.

I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are looking for an economy hotel with front desk only available from 9am-6pm in an old building. Next time we come to the city we will stay in a branded hotel with 24...

The hotel’s location is convenient, but everything else...building, staff, and room conditions were absolutely terrible. We checked in the day before New Years Eve, only to find that the room looked nothing like what was advertised. It was extremely small, with barely enough space for the beds and nothing else. The only airflow came from a window without a screen. The room was filthy and unpleasant. The bathroom sink was cracked and we had to have someone fix the broken stopper so we could use the sink without it clogging. We had to beg for toilet paper and trash bags if and when we could actually find someone from our "reception" area in the office. I finally gave up and purchased enough supplies to last until we checked out. They provided one towel for each guest the day we checked in. No wash cloths or hand towels. I had to use the laundromat just to have clean towels for us to use during our stay. Most of the areas were simply unacceptable in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Anytime we went to the “reception area office” it was dark or there was a post it note taped on the door with a phone number for you to call. When you call the number no one answers. You leave a message and no call back either. And don't think about asking the front desk for any assistance. They were rude and unhelpful. Very underwhelming experience. I strongly discourage anyone from staying at this property. We loved our time in New York with the exception...

I wish we had been able to experience this hotel. We were not due to NYC and all airports shutting down flights and having many delays due to massive flooding. Despite our trip being cancelled (which we were VERY sad about) Studio Plus would not refund the cost of our room - $436. They have a no cancellation policy which we had 0 intention of doing. We were going to NYC to see my niece Graduate from College! I wanted to be there! I had no choice when the airlines cancelled 2 flights. So you would expect that when your flights are cancelled repeatedly and there is pretty much a natural disaster happening, they would reconsider. They were completely inflexible.

This is when they FINALLY - after 3 weeks and 4 emails responded. They said they would send a form for refund and then didn't. Repeat emails and attempts for communication. They then offered $56 back - after I filled out a form that included sending them pictures of both my ID and my CC back and front. Not shiesty at all (sarcasm). The most ridiculous company I have ever dealt with in all my travel international and in the US. So they got paid $436 for us not to stay there due to a trip being cancelled by 2 different airlines. Stay far far away if you expect any consideration or...

The hotel’s location is convenient, but everything else—building, staff, and room conditions—was absolutely terrible. We checked in on Christmas Eve, only to find that the room looked nothing like what was advertised. It was extremely small, with barely enough space for the beds, and had a suffocating mildew smell due to the lack of ventilation. The only airflow came from a window without a screen. The room was filthy and unpleasant. Pillows were stained yellow, the bathroom lacked a fan and had black mold in the bathtub, and several cabinets were broken. Many areas were simply unacceptable in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. After discovering these issues, I contacted Expedia to report the situation, and they reached out to the host. When I went to the “office” to follow up, it was dark, and it seemed like they were deliberately avoiding me. We ultimately left and booked a different hotel instead. I strongly discourage anyone from staying at this property.

Awful place, stay away. I was in room 1006.. there was medical taping covering a hole in the ceiling. Tape holding the table together. The bathroom was beyond disgusting - have no idea why they don't know what bleach is.. that would get rid of all the black mold everywhere. I had to go to the shoe store next to the place and buy $5 flip flops so I could take the quickest shower of my life... No where to put your soap in the shower and a huge bottle of pantene on the floor. The duvet cover smelled of BO.. I know it's cheap.. but it's not worth it... I just prayed I didn't come home with lice or bedbugs...
