Love his store! If you love kpop/Korean books this place is for you! According to reviews this place is pricey but kpop albums are not your average albums. They always come with so much photos and extras that I think $25+ is worth it and I would consider them collector items. Also consider if you order stuff online you'll have to pay shipping and wait for it to be shipped. Kpop music and items arent something you can just get at Best Buy or Hot Topic so this place is a gem.
I purchased 1 Twice, Jun k, Astro and Dean album. Also purchased BTS seasons greetings which was 30% off a Twice poster set which came with alot of high quality posters and stickers and they threw in a free Astro poster! Came out to a little over $200
Everything was great quality! They have poster sets which are about $23, pens, key chains, card sets, posters around $8-$12 . Albums depending on group are $25+. Also look around really good. Albums like Dean are scarce and are in a section of mixed CDs(including Crush, Beenzino, Zion T etc). They won't be front and center like BTS/EXO and won't have many available (I found the only Dean album lol) . Also artists like Big Bang and Jay Park are all the way to the side... Again look around really good for your favs! I went through the store Twice lol
They have Korean magazines and books. All of the books are in Korean. They have a small toy section in the back and a tiny clothing shop upstairs which sells items not Kpop related. However downstairs has some hoodies and beanies (which were Exo and Bts).Right on the other side is a Korean beauty shop. They sell Korean beauty products which were fairly priced in my opinion. Someone mentioned a cafe upstairs but I didn't see and will pay a visit. next time.
They also played BTS alot while I shopped which made my experience better lol. Go ready to spend money or go with none and torture yourself lol.
Last thing.... it is in Korea Town so they have plenty of Korean food places on the same block! Including Korean BBQ if you get hungry from the...
Read moreI came here yesterday to find a gift for my Koreaphile husband. To my delight this well-stocked, though rather expensive, shop even had the Lim Young-woong item that was top of my list. But the incredibly rude staff prevented me from being able to buy it...
Upon finding the item and seeing that the plastic wrap around it seemed wrinkled and frayed, I picked it up to investigate if the contents were damaged. I heard a loud "Excuse me" and then found a shop boy standing right next to me to scold, "You can not open it!" I was taken aback at his anger but chose to just put the item down and step away. Then seconds later a woman from behind the till came over to inspect the item. She tutted so loudly and shook her head with such exaggerated animation that I had to reply this time. I walked back over and told her that the item was already like that before I picked it up. She clearly didn't believe me and instead parroted her colleague, "You can not open it!"
I felt so humiliated that I had to leave. I wanted to support this small shop, but instead resorted to ordering it from the Wal-Mart website for less than half the price, including free shipping, and fast delivery. Sad, but at least online shops don't berate and belittle...
Read moreOMG!!!! I went there yesterday after school and this place was literally HEAVEN. There's so much merchandise for fans who love kpop. There is a good variety albums from older and newer groups. The posters are very well made and there are many cute kpop related little gifts such as pens, keychains, stickers, posters, cards, etc. They also sell unofficial merch such as hats, tshirts, and hoddies with a group's name on them. There is also a section for those into Korea beauty products such as face masks. I'm sorry I can't elaborate more in that section since I was too in aww about all the kpop in one room lol. Since it is a bookstore there is also many books in Korean that vary from children books to books that help teach you Korean. There is also a tiny section upstairs which I believe sells Korean inspired clothing. They lady working up there was so cute because she was dancing and singing along to all the songs that were playing. In general my experience was AMAZINGGG!! This was my 1st time going and I was in love. I legit spent almost 2 hours in there because of how amazing the store is. I highly recommend anyone who is a fan of kpop in New York to check out this...
