Review of bb.q Chicken Korean Fried Chicken (400 Words)
If you're a fan of crispy, flavorful fried chicken with a Korean twist, bb.q Chicken (short for “Best of the Best Quality”) is a spot worth checking out. With its roots in South Korea, this global chain has been gaining traction in the U.S. for its commitment to high-quality ingredients and authentic Korean-style fried chicken.
The standout feature of bb.q Chicken is undoubtedly the texture of the chicken itself. The double-frying method they use results in an exceptionally crispy outer layer that doesn’t get soggy, even when coated in sauce. Unlike many American-style fried chicken spots, the breading here is lighter, airier, and allows the chicken’s natural flavor to shine through.
The variety of sauces and flavors is impressive. The Golden Original is a great choice for purists — perfectly crispy with just a hint of seasoning. For something bolder, the Soy Garlic and Hot Spicy flavors are fan favorites. The Soy Garlic is savory and slightly sweet with a deep umami kick, while the Hot Spicy brings a lingering heat that spice lovers will appreciate. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Cheesling — dusted in a sweet and cheesy powder — is a uniquely Korean treat that's surprisingly addictive.
In addition to chicken wings and drumsticks, bb.q also offers boneless options and full meals with sides like pickled radish, fries, and rice. The pickled radish is a traditional and refreshing palate cleanser that pairs beautifully with the richness of the fried chicken.
The ambiance of most bb.q Chicken locations is casual and modern, with a clean interior and a comfortable dine-in setup. Service is generally quick and friendly, though some locations can get quite busy during peak hours, especially on weekends. Takeout and delivery are also available and are typically packaged well to maintain crispiness.
One potential downside is the price — bb.q Chicken is slightly more expensive than your average fast-food joint. However, the quality of ingredients and the distinct flavors make it feel more like a fast-casual dining experience, and the portions are generous.
Overall, bb.q Chicken delivers on its promise of premium Korean fried chicken. Whether you're already a K-food fan or new to Korean flavors, this spot offers a crispy, flavorful, and satisfying meal that stands out in the crowded fried...
Read moreI asked an employee to please give me a boneless GALBI chicken. The employee then gave me the chicken and I was very happy to get the chicken, then at check out the price came out to 18.50. Which is okay! But if im paying such a high price why is the woman at the register so rude when I couldn’t understand her at first when she asked me if I wanted it to go or not. I am deaf so I need a bit of guidance sometimes. That’s fine, however when I get home I am so sadden by the fact I got a chicken that was the “secret sauce half chicken”. I couldn’t even eat it because the secret sauce was Way too spicy for me and I never eat chicken with bones in there, in fear I might choke.
Then later that day during night time, about six hours later I come back and I did not eat a single bite out of the chicken and had the receipt in hand. They gave me an extreme hard time about the fact that they gave me the wrong food but couldn’t exchange the food for something I can actually eat? They were so rude and demeaning to me it was so sad. I can’t hear and I can barely communicate with them and they barely had the patience with me. After awhile they finally did give me a replacement but not the one I originally intended and requested earlier from an EMPLOYEE of bbq chicken. Instead they ran out of the galbi boneless. So I went with honey garlic. . I do not know why the first employee gave me the chicken that I didn’t request for. I specifically asked for the boneless chicken galbi and I got something else that was totally different and inedible to me. And paying almost 19$ for something I couldn’t even eat. Anyway I did get the chicken but a different chicken flavor that I didn’t want initially and without smug looks and without an extreme hard time. I ate the chicken, it was cold. And soggy. Very sad experience. The sauce was really good though and the chicken...
Read moreI had lunch at this place today. After finishing my meal and preparing to leave, I realized it was pouring outside—an absolute downpour. I stood near the window to check if the weather was letting up when one of the staff, apparently in charge of food deliveries, approached me and told me I couldn’t stand there and needed to move. Without hesitation, I immediately stepped aside.
But then, unbelievably, he shook his head in clear frustration—like I had done something terribly wrong. I was stunned. I asked him, “What exactly did I do that was so wrong that you feel entitled to shake your head at a customer?” I explained that there was no sign indicating I shouldn’t be standing there, and the moment he asked me to move, I complied instantly.
Instead of acknowledging that, he snapped back saying he had the 'right' to shake his head and had the nerve to claim that my behavior was inappropriate. I couldn’t believe it. I pressed him: “I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to stand there, and I moved the second you asked—what about that warrants a head shake?” That led to a heated argument.
Fuming, I went over to the cashier and explained the situation, firmly asking for the manager. While I waited, another delivery guy—who seemed to know the staff member personally—jumped in loudly taking his side, telling me I was the one in the wrong for standing there, then stormed out. (It was clear they knew each other.)
Eventually, the manager came up from downstairs. The three of us spoke, and I explained everything. The manager addressed the staff member’s unprofessional behavior, but he flat-out refused to acknowledge any fault and even walked away, unwilling to have a proper conversation.
The manager apologized to me, and I accepted the apology. But the entire experience was incredibly upsetting and left a lasting...
