I would be very careful with this building. I've found their COVID protocols to be lax, building security is non-existent (everyone is let upstairs regardless of tenant consent, which is especially concerning given COVID), there is consistently loud construction (might be in part because the residences are attached to an office building or because of repeated tenant turnover), and the apartments themselves have major issues.
Some issues that mine has had (F line): Broken dishwasher (at move in; took a week to fix) Leaking sink (shortly after move in; took about two weeks to fix) Paint dust on most surfaces (at move in; took about a week to address) Holes and scratches all over the floors (at move in; still not fixed) Clogged shower drain (at move in; management told me I was imagining it and only fixed it when it got so bad that it flooded my bathroom about a month into the lease) Toxic paint fumes (on multiple occasions during the lease) Loud construction (sporadically throughout lease) No hot water after ~2 a.m. (for several weeks; only addressed after I filed a 311 complaint)
The issues were so bad and constant that management at one point issued my roommate and me an Amex gift card.
I want be fair in my review, so I will say that it has not been all terrible. Aesthetically, the apartments look good. The AC and heat work fine. The doormen and maintenance members are nice people.
Just be careful. This building is still in the growing stages. I was even told that as an excuse for all its constructional issues. Problem is that it’s not priced for that.
Speaking of pricing, just a day after I filed the 311 complaint for lack of hot water, I was offered a renewal lease… priced $1500 above the rate they advertised for a the same apartment on a higher floor. No idea if it’s coincidental or not (it was not in line what I was told by the building manager a month prior). That’s for you to decide.

Read moreI used to love lving here. The staff is pretty amazing and the management company representatives are nice guys even if the materials in the apartment interiors leaves something to be desired: the floors are some kind of wood veneer that shows wear and tear very easily, the cabinets are also fake wood and are already faded, and my walls were never painted (even though it was promised before I moved in) so they are just primed and it means they pick up dirt really easily. They offered to paint them after 2 years and even to replace the floors (because the material is so bad) but I have to move everything out of my apartment which is an untenable solution. Now some developer built this new hideous building next door and it's almost as if they designed it as a middle finger to the Amberly. Not only did the builder completely obscure the eastern view from the first 14 floors of the Amberly, but they also built out to the very front of the lot on Concord Street and left the middle of their building like a gigantic hole so I now have 8 sets of windows looking into my livingroom where privacy has gone down by 90 percent. The shades here are the thinnest quality and now everyone on this side of the building is basically living in a fishbowl. It would have been nice to know there were lot line windows when I made the decision to recind another lease...
Read morePros: Very well built apartments. The build quality is high end + well maintained building + very responsive and pleasant management + Steve the super is very nice.
Cons: Most of the front desk staff don’t smile, greet, or enforce security.
Our parking garage locks the gate at 10pm and doesn’t reopen until 7am.. so basically, residents who have any night life or need to leave for early A.M work are out of luck. I’ve spoken to management about this and they told me it’s a 3rd party managed garage so hours of operation are out of their control....
Doesn’t make any sense, especially when we’re paying additional monthly charges for those resident parking spaces. Residents in a luxury building like the Amberly should have 24 hr access to their...
