The only competent individual in this establishment is the eye doctor who seems to maintain a level of professionalism but unfortunately the front store staff have an arrogant and dismissive attitude. I understand we’re in Chinatown and haggling for a deal is common but not in a place of business where insurance is covering the cost. One particular employee by the name of Z, is by far the worst and deceptive sales rep. After my eye exam as opposed to explaining my coverage that my carrier will provide without hesitation attempting to have me pay out of pocket. Stay away from this place!!!!! And proceeded tossing one frame on the counter and I asked if any other colors or styles and simply answers “I didn’t think you would like these.” Seriously!
Edit: the reply from the Store is completely false. The sales rep never informed me of my basic coverage from my insurance instead immediately trying to sell me lens for my existing frames and flip flopping on the price to ultimately charge full price while still charging my insurance. The lens were not tinted but anti-glare. The sales rep stated the $90 for the lens. When asked what does my insurance cover he stated on $25 of that amount and proceeded to say he misquoted me that boss had changed the the lens price recently was now $110. Which if anyone understands the SCAM can obviously see the sleazy tactic of inflating the price to still charge the customer full price and still bill the insurance. So the basic frames were fine and that’s I all got with the basic lens charged to my insurance. Btw, I ended up going to their other store on Mott street that charged $80 for the lens as normal transaction which was the same discount with my cheap insurance lol… and for the record ZERO PRICING WAS DISCUSSED PRIOR TO THE...
Read moreLocated in a less bustling part of Chinatown, this was a very convenient place to get my contact lens exam. Be sure to bring a picture of your current contact cases or old prescription, as the optometrist needs that information before he can write the prescription. Otherwise you'll have to pay extra for the contact lens fitting if this is your first time getting contacts.
The contact lens exam was a breeze. Had the standard "stare at this hot air balloon" machine then was brought into the exam room where I read letters and numbers off the wall with the glasses machine. Then put in a pair of trial lenses to confirm I could still see the numbers/letters on the wall. After paying, I was on my way! The whole thing was super quick and I'll keep this place in mind for my future...
Read moreAmazing experience! Dr Dong was awesome, quick to work with & got my eye exam done in less than 15 min. The staff quickly pulled up my insurance, told me what my vision covered & helped me reference frames that would fall in my price range. They have a wide selection of lower to high end eye glasses/ frames & sunglasses. Will definitely be back soon to buy new frames! Also support your local eye store instead of the...
