If you find yourself wondering why GameStops are closing left and right, just stop at this fine establishment. First and foremost, your hours for Saturday are wrong online, and in the GameStop app. It says you open at 10:00 AM, when in fact you open 11:00 AM. Imagine my disappointment on Saturday when I drove out of my way to a place that wasn't open.
Alas, I decided to give you a second chance as, unfortunately, these things happen. Today, Thursday, August 21st, I decided I was going to trade in my Playstation Portal. The gentleman who assisted me, John, looked quite perplexed when I took the device out of the case. One would think by his facial expression that he'd never seen a Playstation Portal, and that it may in fact be a prehistoric device.
John immediately pulled out his phone to google a model number. After a few minutes, and some loud sighs, he asked if I knew which number it was. I mentioned it would most likely be the newest as it was only just purchased a few months ago. He proceeded to point to his computer screen which they use to evaluate trades, and he's looking at PSP's. I tried to redirect him, as I was trading in a Portal, not a PSP. I even pulled up the GameStop website showing the Portal listing, and the estimated trade values. However, he insisted that PSP was an acronym for PlayStation Portal, and that he was looking at the correct device.
After searching again for a few moments with no luck, he passed the system back to me and asked if I could log in to test a game. I'm not sure how he expected me to do this when the Portal was already disconnected from my PS5 and PS Account.
At that point, I had zero confidence in John, nor was I going to go home to reconnect and setup my Portal to my PS5 just to come back, so I left emptyhanded, with no trade credit. :(
I do still have my PSP, Playstation Portable. Oh wait, Portal, I'm...
Read moreStore Manager went above and beyond for my son. I had recently ordered a NFC reader/game from another Gamestop in Cranberry. When I went to pick it up they had the game but couldn't find the NFC reader. They promised to have it shipped closer to me (at N. Fayette) but somehow that slipped through the cracks. I contacted the N. Fayette store and spoke to the manager and told her the whole story. Apparently this was a rare item and hard to find. She was able to track one down in Hawaii and have it sent to her store. She also agree to honor the online Gamestop price despite the fact that it cost more online on other sites. Let me just say this manager (Chrystalynn) was awesome. When I went in there with my son to pick it up she even took the time (from her lunch break) to talk to my son and boy does he like to talk. The other Gamestop employee (David) was also very personable and knowlegeable and was able to answer my questions. Thanks! You guys have earned a customer and kept them. All manager's could learn from them the right way to treat customers. I'm looking forward to future...
Read more0 stars for the cashier, Emily, who checked my sister out. She was on the phone with her coworker, Chris, half the time we were in the store. She was very loud and obnoxious. It made the whole experience really awkward bc we were ready to check out but she was still on the phone. Eventually my sister decided to checkout since the phone call was not ending. She was talking about random things and friends at the mall (not work related at all). When my sister checked out, she said on the phone, “I’m the president of your fan club” in a very weird voice trying to be funny. It was so uncomfortable. She did not get off the phone at all and WHISPERED the total to my sister as not to disrupt her conversation. It was the worse customer service I’ve ever experienced. I work retail and would never even think to be that disrespectful to a customer. Get your...
