Oklahoma County Courthouse — Local services in Oklahoma City

DO NOT go here for your marriage license needs, these people clearly have no life goals nor any type of goodness in their life, and it clearly shows. We arrive at the courthouse on 1/25/2024 to file for a marriage license, the sheriff that was manning the security desk was the most pleasant part of our whole experience. He was very kind. THEN we get to the clerks office, the sign posted says “move to the 4th window” so we proceeded to the fourth window to wait a good 2 minutes in front of a gentleman scrolling on Facebook, how do I know it was Facebook you ask? Because I watched him open his phone and click on the app then proceed to scroll as two people stood in front of him. Then after waiting in silence in front of 3 people we were then greeting by the lady sitting in the first desk when you enter “how can I help you”. She acted like it clearly wasn’t her job. I then start with “we need to file for a marriage license” before I could finish she proceeded to say “you got an appointment?” I of course did not because their website clearly states you don’t need one but it’s preferred. I figured walking into an empty office with 15 open chairs was fine since they were not busy. She gives me a number to call to setup and appointment, I step out into the hall to do so. She then gives me attitude over the phone-like it wasn’t her job yet again. She mentions an Edmond satellite office which I’m like boom keyword there another place besides this run down dumpster fire of an office I then do some simple research and find out that you don’t in fact need an appointment with this Edmond office and the reviews are 5 stars. We indeed found out why the Edmond office is five stars, with their amazing hospitality and help. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. they are horrible at everything they do. GO ELSEWHERE TO FILE FOR A...

Not going to lie I was dreading coming here but upon going through the security check the officers were very friendly, greeted everyone and gave me directions since I was unfamiliar with this particular court house. This court house is very old and definitely could use some upgrades and signs to get you around the courthouse and a direct path to law library. If you conduct any business here you will definitely learn your way around for sure but you will also get a nice workout.

Parking is not bad but you may be driving around to find metered parking close to the actual court house. You're better off valet parking at American Parking lot. The staff are friendly, prices are reasonable and I had no damage to my vehicle and I used them on 3 separate occasions.

Doing guardianship paperwork without counsel is not for the weak at all lol. Thankfully the people in the law library, Judge Hafer's bailiff, clerk and the young lady in the pic were patient with me and helped me through the entire process. Judge April Collins is a very respected and honorable lady and judge in my opinion. And this is even after she reprimanded me. (Tbh it was a misunderstanding, and I didn't get a chance to explain but I can see where she was coming from) . I have had somewhat of a troubled past and used to hold "the law" with some contempt but she really made me change mind of the whole system. I used to think all judges crooked and fascist, but she's changed my mind. I watched her handle a man with mental problems who seemed to be trying to pull a fast one and she handled him with dignity and even compassion, all while staying within the realm of professionalism. It was a sight to behold. I was thinking on writing her a letter but thought this would be unethical due to her currently presiding over my case. But I had to let it be known to the good people, JUDGE APRIL D COLLINS IS ONE OF THE GOOD ONE FOLKS! You'd be lucky to have her over you case. She's honest and fair. So if ur trying to get over on someone stay away from this lady as she's a truth sniffer! Thankful to have her...
