The name is perhaps the most apt of any coffee shop I've ever visited, particularly when you consider the interior design: lines are clean and bright and the space is beautifully uncluttered. I actually feel clarity of mind when I stop in the shop. A++ for the logo, which is the among the cleanest, aesthetically calming I've ever seen. You'll find the hexagonal design throughout the little shop, from the usual (and seasonal) print on paper cups to the little bathroom floor tiles (yes, I noticed). One thing is certain: attention to detail matters at Clarity.
There's a quiet inside that makes me want to stay far longer than I usually can. My only (selfish) concern: people have figured it out and there are always customers inside. I fear the general population's lack of reverence for such calming atmosphere and great coffee. But this is also great news for Clarity- a populous clientele. And so far, my worries are unfounded: customers seem to be engaging in quiet work or conversation rather than speaking at the obnoxious din one often finds at other coffee shops. Clarity plays calming tunes, too, from the xx to José González (what I most often hear there).
Clarity excels at pulling some fine beans; they're also excellent at crafting seasonal syrups for one-of-a-kind drinks. The pumpkin spice latte is an animal far superior to the Starbucks version. I've also swooned over sugar plum, maple rosemary, rose, oatmeal, and lavender lattes. In the summer I enjoyed sipping on an cherry espresso soda, or some such unusual and delicious cold brew.
Clarity is one of Oklahoma City's finer places to grab a drink and sit for a little while. Glad they're a...
Read moreSpace - Bright and open with an entire wall of windows facing Main St. Various seating arrangements to fit any kind of solo/joint/group outing. Fair amount of electrical outlets and a quick WiFi network. I observed business meetings, individuals on laptops like myself, and a group of high schoolers congregating in the shop during my visit. In the heart of downtown OKC it’s easy to access with street parking and multiple parking garages nearby. Great spot to stop in on your way to school/work as well as a nice place to hunker down and do some work. Food - Assortment of typical pastries in a display case on the bar, but lacking specialty items (GF/vegan), this is the only thing preventing me from awarding a 5/5 to Clarity. People - Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable baristas!! After ordering a pour over of the barista’s choice and a latte, he asked if I wanted to try two different beans, which I agreed to! He brought them to my table, gave me a full run down of each coffee bean’s history along with some education about the washing process! He came back by my table after I’d tried both to follow up. Smiles on the faces of everyone behind the bar made for a welcoming and homey energy throughout the space. Beans - Oat milk (minor figures brand) latte was perfectly sweet without adding anything to it and was made beautifully with cute latte art. The crema held up over the life of my cup and was the perfect drinking temperature. Don Mayo Costa Rica pour over - a lighter roast from a radically ethical source that left a fruity aftertaste with just the right amount of citrus. Uruga Ethiopia pour over - chocolatey tones throughout with a...
Read moreThis shop is on a street downtown where it used to be true you never had to pay to park on SATURDAY OR SUNDAY. These automated stalls do not say if you do or do not, and you do not get any refund if you pay to park but really do not have to on the street. I saw any number of people leave when they saw they might have to pay, rather than get a ticket. The Coney Island is there too and those prices are much less expensive than this shop and if you have to pay for parking it just adds stress and expense to these things. This shop is always clean, there's always people inside and out enjoying their products. I have never had a bad cup of coffee here and never had any bad service of any kind. I usually come to this area on my bike or walking and this place is friendly and they never make you wait or ask you dumb questions. They appreciate a tip and they are here for a couple of years doing a good job as one of the few places open on the weekends, but I never understand why more places aren't open...
