I booked a 2 hour reservation for a party of 15 people for my partner’s birthday party on Sunday, April 20th at 3 PM and when I arrived, I asked the front desk if I was able to move my reservation to 4 PM. There was no issue to make these arrangements. Upon the 4 PM reservation, I was asked to check in with the lady at the bar which I did. I explained to her that I have a 4 PM reservation for the karaoke room. Then she proceeded to explain to me that it is not a karaoke room. It is just a private room. Backstory is that about six months ago I was at the same location with majority of the same people and we were able to pay for karaoke in that same room. So when I decided to book my reservation for April 20th, I was under the assumption that karaoke was also included. There was nowhere on the website that explains that karaoke is no longer available. It only explains that it’s a private room however it is always a private room regardless. So as you could imagine, I was not happy. I had already paid the two hour fee which is $50 and there is no use for me to have just a private room. The only reason for the booking was for karaoke. The employee from here on out that I am speaking with upon this matter is Mary. She first explained to me that it’s on the website that it’s a private room and when I explained to her that it does not explain about the fact that there is no longer karaoke available in this room, This is my debate. If this was stated on the website in black-and-white, I would not have proceeded with this reservation. I asked for a refund and Mary explained that I signed a policy of no refund when I booked online. I explained that this was unacceptable and I will have to escalate to the manager. I did not leave for the day and continued to enjoy the facility without the use of the private room. Someone from my party explained that Mary wanted to speak with me upon the matter again. Once I approached her, she explained that there is another option if I’m open to it. There is a day of the dead private room upstairs as an option for the inconvenience. I went upstairs to check it out, but again was not interested in just having a private room. I explained to Mary that I appreciate her trying to mend the situation, but I will continue to proceed with escalating to the manager. Again, I did not leave for the day and continue to enjoy the facility. A few moments later, Mary approaches me and explains that she was able to work with her manager to proceed with a refund of my $50 and because of this effort from Mary, I am forever grateful for her and everything that she has done and put herself in my shoes as the customer. I know I probably was not very easy to work with and for that I do sincerely apologize but again I am very thankful to Mary for turning my frown upside down, and I think that she deserves acknowledgment for this! Thank you to all the staff and management at arcade monsters and especially to Mary. We will definitely...
Read moreAfter reading some of the reviews I was worried my family wouldn't stay long or have fun here. Some people said there weren't alot of games and complained about parking. I didn't have any issues and was pleasantly surprised but I do think age, gaming preferences and time of day impact people's experience.
Overview: You pay $25 and can play whatever you want as long as you want. It's literally that simple. My husband and I are GenX and Elder Millennial so we loved the nostalgia and it felt like what we experienced as an arcade when we were younger. The only difference is the games do NOT give out tickets so you don't collect them and turn them in for prizes. That was not an issue for us but it's worth noting in case you're expecting that. You may also want to get their when they open vs late in the afternoon or evening. I can definitely see it getting busy and packed later in the evening.
Games: There were alot of games and alot of different types of games. Pool tables, air hockey, fooze ball, ski ball, FPS games, old school throw backs like frogger, centipede, and pacman, there were several dancing games including DDR, there were basketball games, several 2 player games, pinball machines, car and motor cycle racing games, etc... Me, my husband and our teens had plenty to do to keep us busy for 2 hours.
Staff: The employees were also very nice and attentive. I unknowingly left my phone at a game and literally as soon as I pressed start on the next game a few feet away an employee tapped me and asked if I left my phone. I probably wouldn't have realized it was gone until I had left.
Safety: They also have security sitting at the door and they check bags to ensure everyone's safety. I even saw him walking around but not in a scary or intrusive way.
Parking: Parking is behind the building. I went on July 4th around noon and there weren't many people in the lot or inside the arcade. When I left there were several people inside but it wasn't crowded and we didn't have any issues playing any games we wanted.
Food: I didn't buy any food or drinks but I was tempted because they give you the option to add alcohol to the drinks and slushies. The food was also...
Read moreCame in on a Wednesday around 04:00 pm with my son. Parking is behind the building (large lot).
We were greeted and paid for wristbands at the door. They offer 20% discounts for cosplayers, military, industry, teachers, first responders, and families.
The unlimited play for a day (without re-entry) still lets you go outside. They have picnic tables on astro-turf for you to eat/drink/smoke.
The arcade is one giant room with a back area that leads to some other gaming corridors. Large table games were set in the middle. The dining and drinks are ordered at the back.
Food and drinks aren't cheap but they're not extremely pricey either. I'd say they line up with most of the tourist areas on iDrive/Universal. We didn't dine, but we got some beverages. You are allowed (and encouraged) to bring a re-usable water bottle. Every game/machine has a cupholder, but don't forget it when you move on.
Just as you should put on sunscreen before spending the afternoon in the Florida sun... You should definitely use ear protection if visiting this arcade for a while. They provide them free of charge at the bar/food area.
Every game we tried functioned but the boxing/punching strength machine. Then we found out it did work, we were just using it wrong. Lots of variety in machines... Japanese rhythm/dance/music games, air hockey, basketball, ski-ball, motorcycle, big name shooters, pinball machines, old school cabinets, etc.
There is a lot to do and see. It was not crowded when we were there, and we never really had to wait to use things. They have fun vending machines too. Everyone we interacted with was vibing and the staff seemed to be happy to be there. All in all it was a good...
