We were locals visiting this restaurant after reading some of the reviews, frankly we were disappointed. To start with:
The staff is very unfriendly. We walked in, no greetings at all from them, just took out two menus and started walking. Not even a smile. This should have been our first hint!
As some one noted earlier, the cleaning supplies are very strong in odor, the staff is just spraying the liquids where ever and wiping it down with the same old rag.
Choice of menu items was nice, so we tried the Malai Kofta, Goat Biryani and Naan. Food was not bad. However the Naan came out like 15 minutes after they brought the main entrees. So the entree were cold by the time the Naan Arrived. Naan was not soft, it was more rubbery and chewy. Biryani was ok.
For what we get, the prices are a little steep, but then again all Indian restaurants like to charge high prices for smaller quantities and everything is ala carte. The price of the papad was the most shocker, charging $6 for two pieces of papad, which is nothing special, it's ready made from the grocery store and they just bake it or fry and serve it. Package of 25 cost around $2.
Staff as I said earlier are very cold to customers. After most of our dinner was done, someone came around to ask how was it. I told them about the Naan, reply was I'll let them know, god know who they told. The owner was walking around, not even greeting the customers. Guess his too busy counting dollars to actually greet the customer and ask them how things are going. More interested in dollars then customer service.
Simply amazed by lack of cleanliness in the restroom, why is that Indian Restaurants have the dirtiest restroom, this one being no exception to the rule.
Atmosphere is ok, nothing great to talk about. Beat up old tables and booths, with scratches galore.
Overall, I doubt I'll be returning to this place in the future. Total let down from all aspects, not worth it considering, they have no appreciation for the customers. Owner needs to understand that without customers, there won't by any shop to run.
Try to be little warm and friendly to the customers, teach your staff on how to approach the customer, have them smile a bit more, be more interactive, when customer is complaining there is something wrong, make it right for them so they feel good. Go and ask the customer several times, how things are? As I said earlier, his too busy counting dollars, assuming he does not need local patrons, since his located in a high tourist...
Read moreEdit and response to comment left on review: I’m writing this review not only as a delivery driver, but also on behalf of the customer who was visibly upset upon receiving their order. The large order was placed into one single, very heavy bag that wasn’t even sealed — which goes against standard delivery practices meant to ensure food safety and customer trust. When I asked the restaurant for a second bag to help distribute the weight and allow for sealing (as is expected by most platforms and customers), I was told to just hold it from the bottom.
If there was any frustration in my tone, it came from the lack of cooperation I experienced while trying to prioritize the customer’s experience and follow basic safety standards. I was not rude — I was simply advocating for what I knew was right for the situation.
My concern was not just for the delivery process but also for the customer’s experience, especially since many of these customers are staying in hotels and have to walk long distances to their rooms. The customer expressed frustration that the bag felt like it could rip and that their food arrived unsealed.
Rather than responding with care or professionalism, the restaurant replied with an unnecessarily aggressive and personal tone. I was simply trying to do right by the customer.
Response to second comment:
Thank you for taking the time to respond, but I want to clarify what actually happened.
The issue could have easily been avoided if the order had been packed into two bags from the beginning. That would have solved the concern about weight and safety without any need for further discussion. Instead, when I politely asked for a second bag, I was immediately told that I had to repack the food myself. That’s extremely alarming — no Uber driver should ever be instructed to handle or transfer a customer’s food, as it violates both safety guidelines and customer trust.
If there was frustration on my part, it came from being met with resistance when I was trying to uphold basic delivery standards and prioritize the customer’s experience. I was never aggressive or rude, just trying to do the right thing — both ethically and...

Another long weekend food hunt led us to Bawarchi Biryanis Orlando, and I must say it was a delicious decision!
Parking: Parking is never a hassle here — plenty of spots are available, which is always a relief, especially when you’re hungry and ready to dig in. The area also has a good number of other Indian restaurants, but Bawarchi stands out for its biryanis.
Ambiance & Service: The ambiance is quite decent — nothing overly fancy, but clean and comfortable enough for a casual lunch or dinner. The staff were polite and soft-spoken, which made the experience pleasant and welcoming.
What We Ordered: • Appetizers: We started with the Chicken Lollipop and Shrimp Masala Fry. The Chicken Lollipop was so good that we couldn’t resist ordering a second round — perfectly cooked and flavorful. The Shrimp Masala Fry was packed with spice and the masala was spot on, although the shrimp could have been cooked just a little longer for that perfect bite. • Main Course: We went straight for the Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani, which turned out to be the star of the show. The aroma hit the table before the plate did — soft, fragrant rice, tender mutton cooked to perfection, and spices that tied it all together beautifully. We’re usually not big rice eaters, but this biryani didn’t give us a chance to stop! The raita and curry served alongside complemented it perfectly.
Overall: It was a hearty, satisfying lunch — the perfect way to wrap up our July 4th long weekend before heading home. If you’re in Orlando and craving authentic Hyderabadi biryani, Bawarchi is definitely worth a visit. They have plenty of other options on the menu too, so you can always order a few different things and share.
Highly recommended for...
